Re: Failed to Report Changes to the Police

So in order to help you I am going to play devil's advocate here and give you a reality check. thanks, I appreciate your help. But helping me does not give you the right to refer to me (even indirectly) as the devil. I was not calling you a devil! If I "play devil's advocate" it means I am pretendi...

Re: Failed to Report Changes to the Police

So in order to help you I am going to play devil's advocate here and give you a reality check. Thanks, I appreciate your help. But it is not a devil's advocate case here. And I will take your advice I tell your story, as my story does not seem realistic, but I stand corrected. I DID NOT KNOW. I've ...

Re: Failed to Report Changes to the Police

Explain and apologise. It is unlikely to have any consequences other than them telling you off. However it is still a breach of your immigration conditions to not keep your Police Registration Certificate up to date, just as if you were working illegally or claiming Public Funds you were not entitl...

Failed to Report Changes to the Police

I am little panicked because I discovered just yesterday that I failed to report many things to the police. When I arrived here, I studied at a Pre-university School, and as far as I remember, the school and the police officer that came to the school to register us, told us to report to the police a...

I mean the amount of money in the account, should it stay unchanged for 28 days, or should it only stay above the amount required for 28 days ?

Bank Statement 28 days rule

Hello, I would like to confirm my understanding of the 28 days rule of the bank statement. Does it indicate that the bank statement should stay unchanged during the 28 days, or the bank statement can be changed (decrease) but never lower than the amount of the money required for 28 days ? The reason...

Re: Cost of PhD in the UK?

Dear friends, Could anyone please let me know how much, on average, an international student has to pay for a full length of PhD course in English Literature? Actually I am confused because of two reasons: first, the fee for international students is mostly between 9k to 13k, but in most cases it i...

How to Keep the Bank Statement Acceptable

Hi, I am preparing the visa application of my dependant (tier 4 dependant) and come to stage to book an appointment. The latest date is 22 days from today. If I proceed, I need to pay the Medical health surcharge (IHS) using my credit card and this means the amount of money I have in my bank account...

Re: Accommodation in a non-declared rented flat

It appears then that the HO aren't bothered whether student dependants live in adequate accommodation. It may be wise however for your own peace of mind to check that your landlord isn't illegally sub-letting Council property. I am sure that the house is his property and he is not illegally sub-let...

Accommodation in a non-declared rented flat

Hi, I am a PhD student who's considering bringing in his partner to the UK. I am currently renting a room in a host family house. I have been told lately that "nobody knows that I'm here" by the landlord, meaning that I'm not declared. But when I asked him if he is willing to help me to accommodate ...

Re: Working 20 hours in a full time job

Thanks all for answering.
Yes, I asked them to add a PS at the end saying that I worked 20 hours/week for them at the bottom of the payslip. I think this ought to be sufficient.

Re: Working 20 hours in a full time job

Sorry for keep insisting on the same thing. But as far as I understand, unless the employer reports the employee, they will not know. It means there are no official documents showing how many hours the employee is working.

Re: Working 20 hours in a full time job

Thanks for answering. You're right actually, but how would they know that my manager reduced the number of hours, I mean how to make it official, the job is advertised to be more than 20 hours, it is just an arrangement .... because I really don't understand how they find out that someone is working...

Working 20 hours in a full time job

Hi, I am a postgraduate research student, holding a tier 4 visa, working with a company exactly 20 hours per week. But they are paying me for my travel and my accommodation expenses. The job is advertised to be more than 20 hours per week, but then I spoke to the manager and I explained my situation...
