Re: Beware of Fraudsters calling as Home office

I received similar call and the caller number was showing as UKBA number in London. I am very well aware of this scam so challenged the person on the call and he started facial abuse. Home office never calls anyone directly as mostly the immigration matters are handled through your company.

Re: Travelling to India on Indian Passport

Thats probably the cleanest way to deal, though not the least expensive. The least-expensive would have been postponing your ceremony until you complete the trip, thus retain the Indian passport + BRP whilst travelling. Would have saved you few £'s in applying for Indian e-Visa. Neverthless, what y...

Re: Travelling to India on Indian Passport

Friends, This is how I went about to sort out my India travel in a clean, non complicated way. I am sure this will benefit a number of forum members My naturalisation ceremony was planned for 16-Mar-16 and I had to travel to India on 22-Apr-16. There were multiple options 1. Cancel naturalisation ce...

Re: Travelling to India on Indian Passport

Cancel your ceremony scheduled next week and book a new ceremony date after your Indian trip , if this is a viable option. Use your BRP entry into UK after India Vacation - BAU process. Thanks alien.uk, Yes that is one of the viable options and I thought about this. Actually as we all know we alrea...

Re: Travelling to India on Indian Passport

You would show both passports on departure from India as your British passport is proof of right to enter. You leave and enter the UK on your British passport. You enter and leave India on your Indian passport as long as you are within the 90 day grace period. Many thanks CR001. That makes things p...

Re: Travelling to India on Indian Passport

I think you need your British passport to surrender your Indian passport / OCI process. You also have to send your Indian passport with your British Citizenship application. You have 90 days grace period to travel on your Indian passport from the date you attend your ceremony. So perhaps return BRP...

Re: Travelling to India on Indian Passport

It is your choice. Depends on how risk adverse you are but still unlikely an airline will allow you to fly with just your naturalisation certificate (which could have been printed at home as it is only a piece of paper). Current passport waiting times appear to be 2-3 weeks. Thanks CR001. This is w...

Re: Travelling to India on Indian Passport

A naturalisation certificate is just a piece of paper to an airline. It likely won't be accepted at all. How long are you going to India for and when do you plan on traveling? Potential £1000 fine if BRP is not returned. Yes so basically travelling with Indian passport + BRP is out of question. Ass...

Re: Travelling to India on Indian Passport

CR001: I am attending ceremony next week.Actually I also had that question basically as per new guideline if one submits BRP to home office. So basically only document which can be shown while leaving from India is the British naturalisation certificate. I am not sure if that will be acceptable or n...

Travelling to India on Indian Passport

Friends, I saw multiple threads on the topic but there is no absolute clarity. My situation is as below. My naturalisation application is approved and I will soon be applying for British passport but I have to make a travel to India soon. I may or may not get my British passport before travel. Some ...

Re: Canada immigration effect on naturalisation application

Thanks for that. It is true what they have said as some people take dual to mean 2 but it in effect means more than 1, which is 2,3,4 etc although it is unlikely some one will have that many. I have one good news to share. The naturalisation for me and my family (wife and daughter) is approved. Son...

Re: Claim form received from Parking Management company

Thanks noajthan for quick response. I am bit concerned because the notice is from county court and I do have to either dispute it and fight in the court or pay full amount. I cannot ignore the notice. If court makes an order against me then there will be an entry in CCJ, which I have to inform home ...

Claim form received from Parking Management company

I apparently parked for more than 4 hours and they have been sending the parking fine notice to me. This claim form looks to b...

Re: Canada immigration effect on naturalisation application

Well theoretically, you can acquire PR of other country before you get ILR in UK as you are not sure if you get ILR in UK or not. Just because someone acquired a PR in some other country doesn't mean that the person doesn't have intention to make UK their home. With that reason, I don't think it sho...

Re: Canada immigration effect on naturalisation application

For the benefits of all...I applied for my Son's naturalisation on 01-Sep-15 and received approval on 23-Nov-15. He had Canadian landing visa stamped on his passport so a sigh of relief for all who have been concerned about the effect on application due to Canadian immigration stamp..Please relax an...

Re: MN1 documents - Clarity between FAQ's and MN1 Guide Doc

Hi Kimgadi Many thanks for your reply and clarification. In case we are sending the application by post, do we still need to send the original ILR or a photocopy will be fine? The wait time for NCS appointment is 4 weeks and my daughters Visa will expire next month (18/10/2015) so I do not want to ...

One more point. The parents do not necessarily need to be married so marriage certificate may not be relevant, although for a child born outside UK they do ask for marriage certificate of parents.

Re: MN1 documents - Clarity between FAQ's and MN1 Guide Doc

I recently applied for my son through NCS and they did not ask for marriage certificate for me and my wife. They only asked asked for my ILR copy. I am not sure if they missed the marriage certificate or it is not required. My understanding is that UK birth certificate mentions the names of mother a...
