Thanks Vinny

I got confused with the term British Citizen (thought any anyone on ILR is a british citizen as well). Is there anyone else in the forum who had the same dilema, when a wife joins in late and had to apply seperately after the husband got his citizenship certificate?

Naturalisation for spouse whose with six months on ILR

Hi, I got my ILR in June 2008 through Work-Permit HSMP route after spending 5 years in the UK. My husband came to this country in Jan 2008, converted to spouse visa in Jun 2008 after I got ILR and have now got his ILR. We want to both apply for naturalization at the same time. My question is can he ...

Spouse Visa Confusion

Hi, I have a bit of confusion when to apply ILR for my spouse as the documentation on the form is not clear. Was wondering if anybody here can help. My husband came to UK in Jan 2008 as a dependant on HSMP. I later got an ILR in July 2008. Since, he hadn't completed 2 years in the country, therefore...

Naturalisation - Sending Passport

Hi, In the FORM AN for british citizenship, it is mentioned that I should provide my passport. The application can take up to 6 months, means I would be without my passport for 6 months. I need to know what is the usual Home Office practise. Do they send the passport as soon as they have verified it...

Naturalisation fees

Hi, I am now entitled to british Citizenship and in process of completing the FORM AN. Am a bit puzzled about the whole registration thing? Would we have to apply for registration seperately once our citizenship application is selected? Or will we be automatically registered with citizenship. Also, ...

Valsad,
Congratulations and thanks for sharing your experience. I was talking to a friend today who said that anyone who came to UK before 2006, when they changed ILR requirements from 4 years to 5 years, can apply for an ILR in 4 years. Did you look into this?

Thanks

ILR Question

Hi, I got iLR last year after spending 5 years in UK on WP + HSMP. I initially came to UK on work permit in May 2003 and then moved to HSMP in June 2005. In May 2008, I applied for ILR and got it in June 2008. The question is that one of my friend told me that I could have gone for ILR after 4 years...

Hi,

I called HO and it was confirmed that I need to apply for FLR(M) for my spouse. This because his VISA was dependant on mine and any changes in my VISA status is going to change his visa requirements.

Another £400 down the drain :(

Hi Vinny, Thanks for the reply f the spouse does not meet with the minimum two year requirement for settlement, then I believe the spouse should apply for an extension. My spouse already has a visa till june 2010 and he would have completed 2 years in UK by then. This is because I was on WP before a...

Hi Vinny,
I read the reference 319E(d) that you have given and it does say that the partner of a tier 1 immigrant must be in a relationship for atleast 2 years.

So where would it leave the spouse of tier 1. Would the spouse need to get a visa again?

No I am not related to heritic. I am a bit confused about this all. I think I will contact Home Office about it as I didn't find it in any documentation. Previously, a dependant of HSMP would be issued ILR at the same time. Now they have changed it and a dependant needs to be in the UK at least for ...

heretic, yes your wife needs to apply for a spouse visa on form FLR(M). She needs to apply ASAP as your HSMP is no longer valid, and her dependent of HSMP visa is also no longer valid. You have got it all confused now. I was on HSMP till last week and then got my ILR. My spouse has been in the coun...

Did you only supply documents ( economic activity) for 4 years as required for HSMP holder, reason I am asking this is that I have got only 4 years documents (pay slips, p-60) same as you. This is my 5th year under HSMP though. please provide complete list whatever you have su...

Got It

Hi,

I finally got my ILR today. It took them 6 weeks to process my application. I was on WP for two years and then later to HSMP. During my initial 2 years on WP I switched jobs a couple of times. Probably that was what took them longer to decide.

Thanks everyone on the boards. Its been a great help

Hi, I am applying for ILR today. Please, if any one in the board answer my questions asap that would be really appreicated. I intially came to the UK on work permit, working as a software engineer. Then I switched to another job and then to HSMP. The question I have is that I don't have the Work Pe...
