Your B Tech degree should not cause any problems at all. What counts is whether you can prove that your work experience has been at a graduate level. If this is OK you will be able to claim points for both education and experience.

No need. It will not serve any purpose. Your H-1B documents are anyway photocopies of what you or your lawyer would have filled up and submitted to US-Immig. authorities. It is of no use to HO.
Please submit only original documentation to support whatever you claim in your application.

Points Awarded

This is a question for those of you who have received their approval letters. Mine is still in transit. How does one know how many points have been actually awarded. Not that it matters once the petititon is approved but it is always useful to know while helping someone else with their application. ...

Yup, they told me the same. I have now arranged for my documents to be sent by recorded delivery to a relative of mine in UK. I will pick it up from them thro' courier.
I have to say though that normal post has worked fine for most people.

I was given the following address for pick up: HSMP Team, WP UK Managed Migration, Home Office, Moorfoot, Sheffield S14PQ It is advisable that you get this address from your case worker - in the event that something changed recently. However, there is a catch. Most couriers require signature for int...

Re: Entry Clearance for HSMP

I haven't seen the EC application yet, but I guess if you are staying with friends or family, you don't have to show a hefty bank balance, but I would think that the consulate will be equally keen to find out about the supporting ability of your hosts. I think they may ask for your host's papers - m...

Some tips on getting a decision over the phone

My application got approved this morning. Upon calling HO today (114-207-4074), I found out that a decision has been made on my application - though they refused to say which way it went (Courtesy.....Data protection act). But they asked me to call (114-207-6020), which was very difficult to get. Af...

Dumb Q: Does calling frequently for progress check hurt?

This may sound really silly. As decisions take between 1 day and several weeks once it is assigned to a case worker, does it help or hurt in anyway to call 'em frequently ? (Other than the feel-good effect that it has on the caller !!!) i.e. Does anyone know if they log progress check calls in the s...

Folks, This is a proposal waiting to be tested. May take several months. While pass mark is up to 75, it does make it very straight forward and does separate the wheat from the chaff amongst HSMP applicants. No haggling over graduate level work ex - which I am sure is a pain in the neck for applican...

Hmm.. puzzling. But technically you are well within the 6 weeks average that these guys keep claiming. So they may still ask you to wait if you call 'em. I am told that the case workers can take anytime between a day to a few weeks. Given that, your situation doesn't seem abnormal. It is interesting to see that your application was assigned to a case worker within a few days of being allotted a reference number. This is unusual given the fact that it...

Got my reference number around May-11th. Heard this morning that my application has just been assigned to a case worker today. So it seems to take 3 weeks on an average to get assigned.
Let's see how long it takes for the decision.

Clarification needed: Return of docs by courier

Mwazir,
Does this apply only to the primary applicant of HSMP visa ? Or does this apply to spouse too ?

For example, I have claimed 10 points for my wife's qualifications. Can she stay out of the country for personal reasons for several months ?
