Re: Urgent, go off Tier 2 & re-entering UK on EEA residence

And, to be clear, there is no need to make a special trip in order to enter the UK as an EEA citizen. As an EEA citizen, you have a right to work, and your EEA ID card is sufficient as proof of that for the purposes of the checks that your employer is required to make (and has already made in this ...

Re: Tier 2 - Am I eligible to apply for ILR?

Thank you for the explanation about the 'work permit' term. :) And also thank you to OR for the links. I've decided to email the person recommended in one of the three links you provided. It seems in her/his case she/he split up 320 days over 2 years, so that is doable and not an issue, but wonder ...

Re: US Citizen Spouse Visa Financial Requirement

By the way, according to Appendix FM (see sections 2.2 and 2.8 at https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/469692/Appendix_FM_1_7_Financial_Requirement_August_2015.pdf), the increased financial requirement for a child only applies if the child also requires ...

Re: Tier 2 - Am I eligible to apply for ILR?

The OP is not a WP holder! Title amended (again)! What do you mean? Are you saying I'm not a work permit holder? I am. I'm on a Tier 2 General Visa which I believe is a work permit, is it not? Yes, a Tier 2 visa is a "work permit" for sponsored employment, but there was formerly a category of visa ...

Q16 also tells you to read 245CD-SD. Read (b) and (c). Thanks for pointing this out. 245CD-SD Specified documents The specified documents referred to in paragraph 245CD(j) are: (c) A personal letter from the applicant which includes full details of the reason for the absences and all original ...

Re: Tier 2 - Am I eligible to apply for ILR?

I see; I had missed the fact that you were out of the UK quite so much during 2014, in addition to the 170-day absence during the first half of this year. Yes, unfortunately, it looks like you will need to wait almost another 5 years before you have five consecutive 12-months periods with not more ...

Re: Tier 2 - Am I eligible to apply for ILR?

Agreed; it's nonsense that you would have to wait another five years. The five one-year periods during which you must not have been outside the UK for more than 180 are counted backwards from the date of your application, so it looks, at a glance, like you would be ok from sometime around February ...

Re: EEA2 Application Timelines - ONLY 1 TOPIC - UpToDate

I have been following the timelines here with interest. Below is one more data point, for an (early) April application. Processing time was just under 5 months, though, as has apparently been the case with others recently, it took a couple of weeks after the date on the RC for us to receive the ...
