Re: Citizenship refused - few months self-employment

UPDATE: Hi all, Following the refusal I received at the beginning at the year and my NR request in April, I have now received my long awaited decision: Reconsideration has been successful and I have been granted British citizenship. I have found out in the meantime (from official Gov data) that almo...

Re: Naturalisation refused April 2016

I am also aware of a senior NCS officer from a London centre who raised the issue after being shown an official FOI request response stating status date has priority over card date. Back to Gabi's problem: 1. Did you send for your PR application documents for the last 6 years? (not 5) - I mean 2/3 d...

Re: Citizenship refused - few months self-employment

Many thanks for all your help. I have requested reconsideration and I shall update this post once I receive an answer. In the meanwhile, I have called the Gov help line and asked advice from an EU advice service, all pointing to the same things as you did. Therefore, I have high hopes. Best regards,...

Re: Citizenship refused - few months self-employment

There is some mistake, and possible injustice, here. If you have definitely acquired PR and definitely have held a confirmation of PR card (since 2014) then you do not have to exercise treaty rights in UK anymore. The clue is in the name, you have permanent residence . The refusal appears to refer ...

Citizenship refused - few months self-employment

Hello everyone, I apologise in advance for the long post, please stay with me on this. I am an EEA national that has just been refused British citizenship. The issue seems to be related to my self-employment status over the last 11 months. FYI, I have a PR card and a recognised permanent residence s...

Re: EEA Naturalisation application - need for 6 year bills?

Hi, many thanks for your reply CR001.
I am aware, I was intending to apply before the change on the 12th.

For the information of anyone interested - no, you do not need bills, just Treaty rights proof.
But as CR001 said, this will be implicit from 12th onwards under the new Form AN.

Thanks

EEA Naturalisation application - need for 6 year bills?

Hi all, Quite urgent answer needed, lots of thanks in advance! For EEA citizen application without Permanent Residence (so showing 6 years residence) do you need to show 1) residence through 2/3 bills/medical records/house contracts AS WELL AS 2) Treaty Rights through contracts/ payslips/letters fro...

Re: PR document necessary for naturalisation?

Casa, I did not understand the last line either - unless they change the requirements for PR from 5 years to 6.

It seems to me that the text is quite unclear and contradictory. They say you acquire automatic status , but you DO need a document to certify.

Re: PR document necessary for naturalisation?

Hi all, I have read carefully the new requirements for EEA citizens under the new form/booklet/guide published 28th Oct/2 Nov. Nevertheless, it is not clear if they just require you to have a document certifying Permanent residence OR having one and holding it for 12 months? I have PR status for ove...

Re: 3 Months gap in claiming Treaty Rights?

No worries RedMoon, I will take your advice with caution.
That is the exact registration certificate I had.
All sounds logic to me, though I will give it a bit more consideration if I should actually speak to a solicitor.

Thanks for all!

Re: 3 Months gap in claiming Treaty Rights?

One more thing - I did call the helpline and every time I get a different answer and never an exact one. I have a feeling they don't really know the details of the transitional agreements I refer to, and if I go into details on which certificate exempts you I never get a clear answer. I wanted to ha...

Re: 3 Months gap in claiming Treaty Rights?

Hi, many thanks for your reply! Congratulations on your naturalisation! I know exactly how you felt, I also tend to over-think things now. I just don't want to waste £1000 on a misinterpretation... To clarify my previous post, I was not working, and had just finished my degree when I applied for the...

Re: 3 Months gap in claiming Treaty Rights?

Hi all, I need to try to resurrect this thread a bit because I have just found out from UKBA that I have received my Registration Certificate as a student (before 20 June 2011). Your help with it would be greatly appreciated. As a reminder (of what was said in an initial post) I have been a part-ti...

Re: Permanent residency for EEA citizen, health insurance is

Thinking about it, it's quite funny how in this post everyone considered the Blue Card Reg Cert the correct one to place you under Student Transitional Arrangements. From what I read, I was sure Yellow card was the one, and I still had my doubts regarding Blue card. I applied for Blue card as soon a...

Re: Permanent residency for EEA citizen, health insurance is

Hi there, I am also Romanian national and I got my PR this year. I have been thoroughly investigating the transitional arrangements for students and I can almost assure you that you fall under those. Yellow card is a form of Registration certificate. You had yours before June 2011, so all your time ...

Blue Card holder - Student Transitional arrangements 2011

Hi all, This is my first post on this forum, but I have been reading it for a along time and it is immensely useful. My main question is: Did anyone here applied for British citizenship under the transitional arrangements for students (June 2011) with exemption for comprehensive health insurance bec...
