Re: Irish Citizenship Through Great-Grandfather

Might be wrong, but I think you have missed it by one generation. I would love to be proved wrong. I have just moved to Eire three days ago wit a view to obtaining citizenship by association (great grandparent),it is a minimum of three years. My gg born in Ireland 1860odd, grandad born Yorkshire,dad...

Thank you.
As I am retired do I get a P60? I am not receiving a pension at the moment. I haven't worked for four/five years.

3 or 5 Years, Stamps and By Association/Descent.

I am still a bit confused about a few things or is that remiss? I cannot locate where I can get Citizenship by association or descent after THREE years (at the discretion of the minister), have I dreamed this up? Secondly I understand the 5 year rule but with the last year being continuous. I have r...

Re: 'UK' Joint Bank Account

The purpose is to settle for my 3-5 year citizenship. I am one generation out for automatic citizenship. Sad that Eire is not the 'correct' term for the nation.

'UK' Joint Bank Account

Any advice appreciated. Moving to Eire in a week, alone. I have a joint bank account, also a joint building society account in england with my wife. She will stay here whilst I am in Eire for 3-5 years. We obviously access the account for day to day living and being the bank of mum and dad for three...

Re: Citizenship applications from Northern Ireland

Thank you again. Yes, I understand the good faith question and I can affirm in good faith etc. Being the devils advocate I guess there is still no mechanism to verify the situation going to and from england, as documents are not stamped. Regarding the stamps, I thought there is an annual process whe...

Re: Citizenship applications from Northern Ireland

Thanks Crisbella. My intention is to retire/move to the north west next September. Regarding Dublin. I have a freind who works at passport control. I am informed there is no log of folk who fly in or out of Dublin to england. As you suggest, even if there was, there is still the option of Derry or B...

Re: Citizenship applications from Northern Ireland

Very interesting post indeed. Thanks. I put this scenario and advice welcomed on it. Citizen of england living in Eire. Potentially could spend more than 6 weeks away from the country ie. visitng family in england and also engaging in marathon running around the globe. Will this mitigate/prevent a s...

They don't know, it's all very odd. Perhaps I will need to go an immigration help surgery in Tipperary when I next visit Eire. There must be a better solution/next step. Anyway thanks for responding.

Moldova to Ukraine

Just got back from Moldova. Walked from Moldovan to Ukranian border, legal to do so. Tried to explain to grumpy border official, the boss there, I wanted to get a Ukranian stamp in the passport (though there is no legal need,I was told by a Romanian border boss who knows his Ukr counterpart) walk a ...
