Re: Court date wait times

The only information I could find says an 83 week wait for Entry Clearance Officer cases. At that point our son will be over the age limit.

Re: Court date wait times

Anyone care to comment on wait times? Anyone know anything?

I know that there is potentially a year or more delay for criminal cases, does that apply to immigration cases as well?

Re: Court date wait times

Hello ,can you please share reason for refusal ? Close family member cases are straightforward. The HO wrote: "The family members of British citizens cannot apply for an EUSS Family Permit unless they are a relevant naturalised British citizen. A 'relevant naturalised British citizen' is a dual Bri...

Court date wait times

We applied for an EU close family member visa with legal assistance. The HO rejected and we had the lawyer appeal it via the court. We have been waiting for a court date since August.

Obviously there are huge delays due to COVID. Anyone got any idea how long we will be waiting?

Re: Surinder Singh is it too late to start?

I don't think this is right. We are currently pursuing SS route for a family member with legal assistance and have been advised that it is still possible.

Re: Uk Pre Settled Status

Is your spouse an EU citizen? If so then you can apply via the app.

My wife was not an EU citizen and we had to make a paper application, but like you as we had recently returned we did not have utility bills and the like but were able to apply anyway.

Re: EU settlement scheme decision

They generally send a refusal as soon as they find one reason to refuse, so it probably just means the others are still being decided. Re-submit the brother's one corrected ASAP.

Re: Surinder Singh is it too late to start?

My advice is leave and don't come back. The UK is going down the drain with brexit and increasingly bad immigration rules. You will probably find you like Spain or wherever you go more anyway. Consider Ireland too, thanks to the border you may have better rights over there, although re-unification l...

EU route unable to get a National Insurance number

I just called up to apply for a National Insurance number. Non-EU citizen who came through SS route and has pre-settled status. I was told that no-one who used an EU route (i.e. entered the country without a visa under Freedom of Movement) can get an NI number at the moment. The issue is that they m...

Re: What visa can we get for our children after Surinder Singh?

That's what I thought, but what does it mean "if you’ve lived in another EEA country with an eligible family member who’s a British citizen"? I lived with my wife there and she got pre-settled status on that basis. So we have an eligible family member and this lawyer seems to be saying that her righ...

Re: What visa can we get for our children after Surinder Singh?

Heard back from the lawyer. He says the basis of the application would be Surinder Singh and that the rights continue even though we were forced to move back to the UK.

Re: What visa can we get for our children after Surinder Singh?

Yes, we would have been better off staying in Ireland. They didn't join us there and the father died years ago.

Thanks for your help, that was my understanding too. I will talk to the lawyer more, it seems like he has his wires crossed.

Re: What visa can we get for our children after Surinder Singh?

Thanks for your reply. One is 8 and the other is 19. I understand that the 19 year old won't be able to get a child dependent visa under UK rules, but EU rules allow up to age 21.

What visa can we get for our children after Surinder Singh?

I am British and my wife is Chinese. She has pre-settled status after making a Surinder Singh application (previously lived in the EEA together). She has two children, both Chinese living in China. We were told by a lawyer that we could apply for an EU Settlement Scheme Family Permit. Is that right?...

Which visa for adopted daughter?

Hi. My wife is Chinese, with pre-settled status via the EU Settlement Scheme via Surinder Singh route. She has a daughter that she legally adopted before we were married who is living in China and who is under 18. We send her money for support every month and meet the UK's minimum income requirement...

You should be able to travel, at least up until the end of this year. After that no one knows.

Biometrics October 2019.
Still waiting. Can't seem to contact the HO for an update, they just say we have to wait.

Very worried.

Re: Surinder Singh Settled Status Paper Application:

Is there a phone number you can call for updates on your application? When you call the number on the HO website none of the options are right and it just says "wait at least a month". Well since they have all our ID cards and passports that's making life pretty difficult and we need them back ASAP...
