Re: UK Passport Aplication

Thank you very much for your help - last question as we have everything signed and countersigned. There's a space on page 3, next to the countersignatory details, of a size of a passport photo. Should one photo go there? Or do I rather put two photos together (one signed) and attach to the front of ...

Re: UK Passport Aplication

My current passport matches the name on the naturalisation certificate, but not the previous one which I'm also sending.
You know what, I'll send the marriage cert as well, just in case ;)
Sending also proof of address as table A asks for it... gah! better safe than sorry right?!

Thanks CR001!

UK Passport Aplication

Hi All,

I also have a question re: passport application following Naturalisation. My British citizenship certificate gives my current name, but I changed it years ago due to marriage, is it safest to send the marriage certificate as well?

Re: Poor service of Waltham forest NCS

Just FYI, I also live in Waltham Forest and my invitation letter arrived 1 day after my Home Office letter, inviting me to a ceremony in 2 weeks. Either they changed staff or something improved along the way.

Re: Questions about completing PR application

Thank you - and also for your help with many questions! Actually I just checked, it seems they noted Dec 13 as when we received PR. That in itself is quite random as it's neither the end of the 5 year period we sent docs for, nor actually 5 years after we arrived (for me it should have been end of 2...

Re: Questions about completing PR application

Hi All, As an update, we applied for the DCPR, providing evidence for a 5 period ending EARLIER than 12 months before. So we sent docs for 2010-2014 in detail, plus a few from other years. I also added a cover letter stating we send docs for that timeframe. This is to ensure that the actual date the...

Re: From 12/11 PR Document Required for Citizenship Applicat

Yes, it's completely dependent on people in councils, which is why I signed up for an appointment in the neighbouring council rather than my own because people there were much more helpful / knowledgeable! I'd suggest trying a few different offices for size - my first approach was to send a few quer...

Re: From 12/11 PR Document Required for Citizenship Applicat

Thank you for your response. Your timeline specifies 01/06/12 as a date of when PR was obtained. Is this date something that the HO specified when they sent you the PR Card? When applying for a PR card did you send the documentation to confirm that you have had indeed acquired PR status on that dat...

Re: From 12/11 PR Document Required for Citizenship Applicat

ohara This is very helpful. What is this magical hotline that they called to find out when that PR was actually given to you? I guess I cannot call it? No you can't. It's a regional service line for NCS which is run by UKVI. It doesn't accept public calls and as such there is no queue, they answer ...

ohara This is very helpful. What is this magical hotline that they called to find out when that PR was actually given to you? I guess I cannot call it? I applied, and in my additional cover letter stated that I am applying for years 2010-2014, even though I've submitted selected documents from 2007...

Re: Changes in citizenship App from 12/11 PR Doc Required

Hi All, Can I ask a few outstanding questions before I send off the EEA PR forms (FINALLY!): 1. we're both EEA nationals. Is it safer to fill in two separate forms and send together, maybe with cover letter? 2. do I have to fill in all absences since 2007 when I first came? The citizenship applicati...

Re: EEA PR only

Hello, This is only about EEA PR but didn't want to start a separate topic: both me and my husband are qualified workers (so no one is a sponsor of the other) does it mean we should apply for EEA PR on two separate forms? I'm worried that the sections for family members are not as detailed as the ma...

Questions about completing PR application

Done my NCS appointment in Wandsworth today, they are fab! My PR card came in January. So the NCS guy called Home Office and they told him that my 6 years of Treaty Rights period was completed in 2012. It literally took one minute. They clearly know what they are doing there! Thanks Fifi , and than...

Re: Changes in citizenship App from 12/11 PR Doc Required

That case workers have been advised that the date of the issue of PR should not be used as a date of the acquisition of PR status as this will infringe Schedule 2(2) of the EEA regulation 2006. This is brilliant, thank you. Obie is there a way you could either upload that response (a copy of it) or...

Re: Changes in citizenship App from 12/11 PR Doc Required

I completely agree with all of you. However, when I put this case to a person at the National checking service, she claims it's clear that I need to have held the doc for 12 months. I completely disagree with this but I worry how much that would be the case... Could we track here the new application...

Re: Changes in citizenship App from 12/11 PR Doc Required

The new Residence Cards (biometric format) closely resemble Biometric Residence Permits. They are of a standard credit card size and contain: holder’s digital image, name and signature, date and place of birth, nationality, gender, expiry date of card , place of issue, type of residence card (categ...

Re: Changes in citizenship App from 12/11 PR Doc Required

Hi everyone, Does anyone already have the document certifying permanent residence? I wonder what date it shows - e.g. date of when it was issued, or date of when the right would have been first granted. In my case, I've been here legally for 8 years so my understanding is that once I prove that, the...

Good eye. I wonder if it is a spelling mistake or not.

Damn! I disappeared and tried to book a NCS meeting to do this for next week - and now it seems I might need to wait for PR card AND a year? This is what I was advised over the phone again today... the lady told me I need to hold the PR card for a year before applying. But the Booklet clearly states...

Right, I just gave them a call so I'm updating with latest info in case it helps anyone. Btw. is there a way to edit post rather than write a new one? Hello, Thank you for your responses noajthan ! 1. Thanks for confirming, I also think the checking service lady was incorrect! I don't know where she got it from... 2. We are both applying as EEA nationals (A8 hence the WRS). Does that make a difference? 3. Ha! Yeah, I know! There is no section 9 so...

Changes in citizenship App from 12/11 PR Doc Required

Hello, I hope this is the right forum! My first post, and other posts have been very helpful. I'm about to apply for citizenship as an EEA national. I've been here for 8 years, registered with WRS when I needed to, have 7 P60s to prove residency etc. We don't have the documents certifying permanent ...
