Re: Private Ceremony

I've had to book a private ceremony, though I really wanted what I believe would be the exciting experience of a group ceremony. The council where I'll be having the ceremony has strick rules with regards to the number of guest you can invite. They only permit one and I have two children who I want ...

Re: Universal credit refused

My reconsideration was approved, but getting them to re-open my account has taken weeks. Based on my experience I have no faith in the DWP. I really feel for those people who do not have the confidence or energy to challenge them. I has been an exhausting few months to say the least. I'm sure you'll...

Re: Universal credit refused

Your PR status entitles you to be treated like BC for the purpose of benefits. Their decision is wrong and you should request a mandatory reconsideration. I have been refused as well recently and their reason was that despite having PR I need to be working or self-sufficient. This is not the case. M...

Re: Universal Credit denied depite having PR

Hi Astro-south, Yes, I stuctured my cover letter based on info that I collated from this forum. My card expired in 2014 and my divorce was finalised that year. I was a worker in my own right as well as a student. My final year was the only year I had CSI because I had a baby and was no longer workin...

Re: Universal Credit denied depite having PR

Good morning everyone, Just a quick update. I received a letter from the caseworker this morning, reporting that the wording of the letter was due to an administration error and as I have acquired PR the conditions attached to ROR does not apply to me. He also gave me a revised version of the initia...

Re: Universal Credit denied depite having PR

So for an update, I have emailed the case worker and requested that he clarify whether or not my PR card was issued on the basis that I remain a qualified person (employed, self-employed or self-sufficient). I plan on contacting my MP as well. I would still like feedback from members and moderators ...

Universal Credit denied depite having PR

Good morning all. I deperatly need some help and advice. I applied for UC last week, but today it was closed. Citing that I was not an habitual resident, because my residence card was granted on the basis that I remain in work or self sufficient. I received my PR on the basis of ROR. In the letter i...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

Good evening all. I have recently received my PR card, thanks to the help of this forum. I am now planning on applying for naturalisation as I acquired PR in December 2013. My question is, when submitting evidence, do I need to again submit evidence pertaining to my ex husband exercising treaty righ...

Re: Pernament residence permit if the EEA national spouse not qualified person

From what I've read on this forum, you can retain worker rights while on maternity leave for 52 weeks. This is down to case law. Another option is you having comprehensive sickness insurance (CSI) during the time you were financially dependent on your non-eea spouse. The unfortunate thing is, if you...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

Hi everyone. I do hope it's ok to post this question here. I'm planning on applying for BC after I've been issued with PR. I was once an overstayer prior to marriage to an EEA individual in 2007. So my question is, does my legal stay in the UK starts at the time of the marriage or at the time of th...

Re: EEA family member RoR - Naturalisation refused

Thank you for responding. I definitely have acquired PR I have exercised treaty rights continually. Working from 2007-2013 continuously. I started my degree programme in 2013 to present. The letter that the home office sent out had to be signed for. A red card was left for me to collect and sign fro...

EEA family member RoR - Naturalisation refused

Hi everyone I am new to this forum and need some advice. I applied for BN in May 2015 using NCS service. I applied as an eea family member retaining rights after a divorce in 2014. I did not apply for PR as the law states that this is not compulsory as PR is automatic after 6 yrs continous residency...
