Re: Post Brexit Discussion

Funny how some immigrants, who perhaps after becoming British citizen feel very entitled, and consider themselves so British that they think of themselves as becoming an inseparable part of the British culture. Fact is you are all viewed in the same way as a refugee in the eyes of the true British ...

Re: Brexit and application fees that EU nationals will pay.

Assuming there's no general election and we have a continuation of the current government, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they introduced some sort of fee for EU citizens seeking ILR. I think this would be consistent with their general agenda on immigration. It's obvious that in the non-EU ...

Re: Brexit and application fees that EU nationals will pay.

Can't remember how much you paid for your PR again? You ignore the fact that the same rule applies across the Member States, British citizens and their spouses in other Member States do not pay a disproportionate fee for their residency applications, and in some cases zero contributions towards ...

Re: Brexit and application fees that EU nationals will pay.

Stand by, while I polish my crystal ball. When UK immigration fees are revised annually (generally with an increase), how can anyone possibly predict if and how much EEA nationals will be asked to pay in the future? I wonder if they will have much of an increase if EUs have to pay at ...

Re: Post Brexit Discussion

Again all I see is ranting and no more than that, I do not agree with Obie's view at all re dearly beloved and all that, but to come out here condemning him for expressing is view is simply paradoxical. He is no more "arrogant" than you are, his right to express his view is no more is no more less ...

Re: UK to leave EU - Surinder Singh consequences?

SS route is as open today as it was 2 years ago, for people aspiring this route, I must stress that they should extend their sincere gratitude for the people who voted leave. There is no concern to SS route now for the next two years at least.

Re: After EU referendum is British Citizenship worth?

I value British citizenship because of my affection for the UK and British values, not as an EU-wide visa. What about those of us who value British citizenship because of our affection for the UK and British values and [/i] and value our rights and privilidges as EU citizens, not only for ourselves ...

Re: Post Brexit Discussion

I do not think its fair or even right to blame people for voting in a certain way, they must have the right to express their wishes at the ballot box, but I dissent the idea that the UK could or perhaps should remain in the Community after a leave vote. The public has voted leave, all of you who ...

Re: Post Brexit Discussion

I agree with other interlocuters on these forums that we need to be careful of the language that is being used in these discussions. The country is divided pretty evenly and both sides have intellectually valid points of view that should be respected. Branding one side dearly beloved or xenophobic ...

Re: Post Brexit Discussion

Having read some rather emotional and judgemental comments on this thread, I feel a very tiny bit unsettled. I voted "out". Did that make me a person who was so intellectually challenged that he could easily be "incited" by a certain politician whom a few here so passionately dislike? Do you really ...

Re: Post Brexit Discussion

Perhaps after seeing the implications, the tenor of messages seems to have softened dramatically, very few people would have thought this was a great thing to do. On the one hand good stuff, but it's becoming even clearer that this brexit is akin to foolishness.

Re: Post Brexit Discussion

@ Wanderer; I have disagreed with you on almost every grounds, and I continue to do. UK has done a Brexit, there won't be EU-lite agreement for many reasons. It will be undemocratic, against the expressed will of the people, don't forget any EU-lite agreement will include free movement rules. Europe ...

I am not bringing the referendum topic into this thread. I quoted a specific document that I believe is pertinent to the discussion and then stated the reasons why I believe it already applies. The purpose of a forum is to discuss and I have offered a point of view on the OP's question. I look ...

Re: Arrested at wedding despite permission

What's all these nonsense some members are spouting away on this board? The likes of Secret-simon (Google warrior) and some of his or her mates describing a marriage of convenience in the context of commission document which is yet to become law? The commission document means nothing until at least ...

The applicant is no longer a family member of the sponsor, revocation seems to be the correct decision. The applicant would need need confirmation of his retained right.

Re: Urgent:ROR(Singh)Refused RC revoked NonEea passport reta

If the appeal is not handled by someone who actually knows EU law in depth, things could go wrong rather quickly, most of the solicitors don't seem to get to grips with EU free movement law, be sure you are being competently represented. Prior to filing a petition for divorce last year I researched ...

Case law has moved on, a person applying to retain rights have to ensure that the sponsor is resident in the member state at the time the divorce was initiated. Case C‑218/14.

Re: Urgent:ROR(Singh)Refused RC revoked NonEea passport reta

If the applicant has been exercising treaty rights since divorce, it is hard to see how the refusal decision would stand. The applicant would be entitled to PR confirmation. It is misconceived to conclude that the time spent during divorce does not count towards PR. Appeal now, if u need assistance ...
