Re: Moving to Germany with Non-EU Spouse

ALKB,

Is there a good reason why you consider Denmark to be a good alternative? Do there embassies respect the EU directive especially well or another reason?

Re: Schengen visa not traveling with the partner.

If you were issued a Schengen visa as an EU citizen family member, you are exempt of requirements like return ticket and medical insurance etc. only if your EU citizen is traveling with you, or if you can prove with some documentation that you will join them in the destination EU country. If this is...

Re: Schengen visa not traveling with the partner.

That depends.

What is your intention to travel? Just a visit in Europe and then go back? Or after entering, you intend to register for a residence with your wife?

Will you be arriving to Sweden from the UK? or from another country?

Re: Sweden denied visa to non-EU family members.

you will definitely wait a few years longer than in Italy - because Citizenship requires you to pay certain amount of tax in the country and live there for a certain number of years.

You will be better off first getting the Italian one, and then relocate.

Re: 5 year article 10 visa, using to work in another country

Hi Likesh, The answer to your first question is definitely YES. The answer to your second question, I think contrary to what I said earlier, you are right. The spouse can work in another country ONLY if the EU citizen accompanies her there. For the first three months, no paper work will be needed. A...

Re: 5 year article 10 visa, using to work in another country

Hello Tebee, I recently wanted to register myself in Poland as a self sufficient EU citizen. The process was simple in terms of documents required - but then they invited me for an interview - they wanted to know if I will really live in Poland, how long I will live etc. (The interview did not happe...

2008 38 EC - Obtaining visa at the Schengen border

Hello everybody,

Can someone kindly share experiences about obtaining a visa for a non-EU family member of an EU citizen at the Schengen border? Strategies? Ports? What documents are required and in which languages must they be translated etc.?

Thank you.

Re: FRANCE EMBASSY PAKISTAN ISLAMABAD EXPERINCE

Third suggestion: Some times there are employees in the embassy which are not aware of the rules - so you can show up there, take a print out of the directive itself (and some other EU documents - plenty are available on internet). And try to convince them on the spot. This worked for me in the past...

Re: 2008 38 EU - appeal in court after embassy denies visa

Yes my father is financially dependent on me, so the directive applies.

I am more concerned about finding out the detailed procedure for appeal in court i.e. if a lawyer is needed, how to find out where to make the appeal etc.

Can someone help please?

Re: FRANCE EMBASSY PAKISTAN ISLAMABAD EXPERINCE

What I have learnt so far is, that different embassies and countries apply this rule differently. My mother just applied to Spanish embassy under the same directive. The application was accepted at VFS Global office in Islamabad very easily and they ONLY asked for the documents that are required acc...

Hello all, Following scenario: A Belgian national, who lives and works in Belgium, just visits France for 15 days, and his Indian father makes an application at French embassy in India to join him there during those 15 days under Directive 2008 28 EU. 1) Visa rejected 2) Visa appeal also rejected No...

EU rights when EU citizen is just "visiting" another country

Hello all, According to my investigation and correspondence with EU, it seems like the directive 2004 28 EU is also applicable when an EU citizen living in his native country just "visits" another country and wants his family members to join him there during his "visit". (kind of replacement for tou...

Re: Sweden denied visa to non-EU family members.

Hello mrworld9 and others, When an EU Citizen's family member's visa is reject at Embassy, then appeal in reject at Embassy, and then you go to court for appeal in the relevant country: 1) Does that appeal have to be sent via a lawyer? or can you just send it yourself? 2) What language must be used?...
