Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Hi everyone. Good news. My spouse applied for citizenship on March 19, 2020 before lockdown and got approval via email on May 18, 2020. Today, we received an invitation letter from Home Office to book Citizenship ceremony with the local council. The waiting is over. I believe they're now posting in...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

Fantastic news! I have been approved for British citizenship today. I applied with the new CSI wording. Missing 3 years of exercising treaty rights, provided sufficient evidence. Congratulations - it's been a roller coaster ride since you first posted - but at least the worst (the waiting) is over,...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

Of course in the big picture that’s good for applicants. But as I said anyway near logical or fair. This way people absolutely stand the chance to live in UK without ever exercising treaty rights, whether before EU Settlement Scheme nor in their 5 qualifying years. How is this fair to applicants no...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Ceremonies fall in line with school category as people meet with others from different households. My guess is when schools fully reopen it is where ceremonies will resume. At the present moment there is no plans to open schools even in September, while is good to have a hope dont hold your breath ...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

So happy now. after 6 years of anguish, I just got an email from the home office 2 min ago saying that my BC application was successful. My case was complicated as I haven't exercised treaty right. I doubted they would granted to me, I wrongly prejudge them and I apologise for it. Now I am 100% sur...

I’ve called HO they said the new requirement is from the time the guidance is in place (14th May I think it’s been published).

I called after a friend contacted them last week and received the same information.
Oh cool ! That 's a very good news.

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

First of all, congratulations to everyone who have gotten their citizenship applications approved! Based on what the Home Office have said it seems they're arguing that CSI has always been a requirement for citizenship, and that they're just clarifying this requirement. Following from that logic, t...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

Hi all, Just wanted to let you know that my application for naturalization was approved today. I was applying via the Settle Status route and 45 days in between jobs. The HO did not request any CSI for these days. Hope this helps giving some peace of mind for all of you waiting for a decision. Than...
