Tax credits for Europeans. Is there a minimum earning in order to qualify?

Hello everybody. I'm a self employed European citizen. Can I qualify for tax credits? If so, do they require a minimum amount of earning as in the case of housing benefits? (For housing benefits us europeans need to earn a minimum of £180 per week in order to qualify. Isn't it a ridiculous ...

Re: Minimum earning to get HB if S.employed (for EU national

This is due to the Minimum Earnings Test for EU migrants requirement to show that the work is 'genuine and effective'. The earnings level is set at £150 p.w https://www.gov.uk/government/news/minimum-earnings-threshold-for-eea-migrants-introduced So basically if I earn less than 150per week (and I' ...

Thanks for your answer.
I thought that maybe requirements could be different in each council, also because the allowance they provide is not the same.

Minimum earning to get HB if S.employed (for EU national)

Hi, I'm a European national, self employed. In the council where I live in West London, in order to receive some help with housing benefits (if you're European and self employed) you need to make at least £150 per week. Is it the same everywhere in London? Or every council has its own rules? And so ...

Re: Please recommend me somebody to prepare my EEA applicati

When I was a jobseeker at the time, according to the rules in those days, I was a qualified person. If they change the rules and backdate them, it's totally unfair. It's obvious that getting permanent residence and then the British passport, gives me more guarantees as a human being in this country ...

Re: Please recommend me somebody to prepare my EEA applicati

I know that I don't need a solicitor but because I failed twice, I don't wanna take the risk again, if I will ever be confident to apply again. My case worker says that every jobseeker period after 3 months, resets the start date. So basically I've lost more than 5 years living in this country. Back ...

Please recommend me somebody to prepare my EEA application

Hi there, Unfortunately for the second time my EEA application (for permanent residence card) was rejected. They say that the only thing they can give me at this stage is a Registration Certificate. I don't know how useful this could be, but I guess t's better than nothing, I would say. Considering ...

Re: EEA (PR). Cost taken from my account. Sign that I succee

I went back to my previous bank statements and I actually paid even the first time. So I was mistaken. I obviously think that it's unfair if in the end you get nothing. They should charge you only if you get the card in the end. Funny that they take the money first thing as they receive the material ...

Re: EEA (PR). Cost taken from my account. Sign that I succee

You are paying for them to consider the application. The payment being taken is a sign that they have received your application and have started to process it. It is certainly not a sign of success. Thanks for your reply. But why that didn't happen the first time then? Maybe they forgot and I got ...

EEA (PR). Cost taken from my account. Sign that I succeeded?

Hi there. Recently, for the second time, I applied for the EEA permanent resident card. The cost is £65. I still haven't heard from the Home Office, but today I noticed from my bank statement that the amount mentioned has been taken from my account. That didn't happen the first time when I failed. ...

Re: My second EEA application. Scared it will be rejected ag

You're right. By the way, they charge £65 only if they give me the card. If they don't, there is no charge.

I wonder if Britain comes out of the EU (after the referendum in June), there will be still a chance to apply.

Re: My second EEA application. Scared it will be rejected ag

Well, with the new rule after January 2014, you need to show ' “compelling evidence” that they are continuing to seek employment and have a genuine chance of being engaged'. Again, aren't the rejection responses from employers a compelling evidence that I'm continuing to seek employment? Isn't the fa ...

By the way, these are my timeline details : 1st year (end of 2010 until end of 2011) : University student with insurance 2nd year 2012 ...

Re: My second EEA application. Scared it will be rejected ag

Thanks for your reply and thanks for the link. Aren't the rejection replies from employers a compelling evidence that I've been always looking for work? Isn't the fact that I'm currently working (on a permanent job) the proof that I had genuine prospect of work? Isn't the fact that I was always ...

My second EEA application. Scared it will be rejected again.

EEA (PR) questions

Hi there. I'm completing my application for the EEA (PR) and I have some doubts. I've been living in the UK for more than 5 years but I have to write the days in each year when I've been outside the country. What is the day limit for each year, or overall for the 5 years? What if I don't remember ...

Re: Application for Permanent Residence Card refused.Help/ad

As I said I wanted to prepare an introduction to clarify my whole history in these 5 years and show that I've always been a qualified person to avoid an easy rejection for stupid reasons. I was asking how would you present it. According to the new rules, the jobseeker period for europeans, lasts for ...

Re: Application for Permanent Residence Card refused.Help/ad

What I really need to know is how I can prove that I genuinely had prospects of work for the whole period I was under JSA. What documents do I need to prove such a thing? I thought that the fact that I was under JSA (and so registered to the Jobcentre, and that they kept me going) was a proof in ...
