Evening all, just wondering if you see a pathway to ILR given the following timeline?

Hi guys. I've held a few different visas over the years, so not sure what pathways are open to me. Is there any way I can go for ILR? Mar 2013 to Mar 2015 (Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa) - Entered the UK and worked full time as a young person. Feb 2015 - Mar 2018 (Tier 2 General Visa) - The job above e...

EEA EFM application 2 months delayed. How to escalate?

My partner and I applied for the EEA EFM visa and EEA QP at the same time (same envelope) in May 2016. According to official HO correspondence, applications are processed as soon as possible, and most importantly they state 'in any event, within 6 months'. Payment was taken for our applications on 2...

Re: EEA2 / FM-EFM Discussion thread

All, I received my passport today by special delivery Royal Mail. Very interesting timing. I was about to chase again via the online form after I got home from work tonight, however lo and behold, my passport had been delivered today. So, June 28: Requested passport back July 29: Received passport L...

Re: EEA2 / FM-EFM Discussion thread

Minor correction, I meant to say as of *July 28 I still don't have my passport back (not June) PeatD, your experience is basically what I was preparing myself for, that I had 100% certainty I'd have to use the chaser-form after 10 working days, but unfortunately I fully expected to receive the passp...

Re: Currrently Tier 2 General, want to move to EEA-Unmarried

I'm back, It's been a long wait! Thanks again kamoe for your help, and casa, noajthan, vinny of course It's now May, and I've now crossed the 2 year mark living with my partner at my current address. We are actually at our 3 year mark overall, however as discussed our previous address was a bit shak...

Re: Currrently Tier 2 General, want to move to EEA-Unmarried

Thank you very much Kamoe... that is very comforting as I know to wait until May now. Based on your explanation I would fail if I didn't wait until May. We did not have a joint bank account at our first residence, nor our names on any of the bills. It was all run by the dodgy landlord. Our current p...

Interesting, I am in exactly the same position, see my thread here: http://www.immigrationboards.com/eea-route-applications/currrently-tier-2-general-want-to-move-to-eea-unmarried-t201607.html Also a NZer. And as a NZer, the prospect of having our passport tied up for 6 months at the HO is daunting,...

Re: Currrently Tier 2 General, want to move to EEA-Unmarried

noajthan Noajthan, many thanks for coming back with these points for me to think about. Am I correct in that although the COA won't allow me to work, my current Tier 2 will continue to cover me so long as I am with my current employer? I intend to quit my job almost immediately upon receipt of the ...

Re: EEA2 / FM-EFM Discussion thread

You can officially request your documents back from the Home Office: https://www.gov.uk/visa-documents-returned It's good to wait at least 10 working days after submitting your application before asking for documents back. It gives the option of withdrawing your application, make sure you say NO ! ...

Re: EEA2 / FM-EFM Discussion thread

Tati and AliadNan770, can I ask you do you go about requesting your passport to be returned during the RC application process? I see that both of you received your passport back about 1 month into the process, even though it took your RC about 5 or 6 months. I have not read anywhere that this was po...

Re: Currrently Tier 2 General, want to move to EEA-Unmarried

Cheers Casa, Noajthan and Vinny. I've been reading constantly the last 24 hrs. It has helped so much to be pointed in the right direction. I wasted many months sporadically researching visas and getting nowhere, but now with your help I've been able to confirm a few details. 1) I will need to apply ...

Re: Currrently Tier 2 General, want to move to EEA-Unmarried

I'm comparing the 'extended family member' option and have also come across another one. I'm trying to understand the differences between these two: 1. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/application-to-extend-stay-in-the-uk-as-a-partner-form-flrm 2. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications...

Re: Currrently Tier 2 General, want to move to EEA-Unmarried

Interesting question in a similar sort of case: https://www.immigrationboards.com/eea-route-applications/can-i-have-tier2-and-eea2-at-the-same-time-t170859.html That is a very interesting indeed. It never occurred to me that it could be possible (and it seems one person in the thread achieved this)...

Re: Currrently Tier 2 General, want to move to EEA-Unmarried

Cheers to you also, noajthan. I am making way through, that is quite a large document.

I've found references to a 'cooling off period' on the UK govt immigration website which I sincerely hope doesn't apply to me if I am able to go ahead with this visa switch.

Re: Currrently Tier 2 General, want to move to EEA-Unmarried

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply to me. I feel like I've been racking my brain for months to get anywhere with this idea I've floated. I've not ever come across other results where somebody who already has a Tier 2 General actually wants to get out of it and instead get some of kind ...

Currently Tier 2 General, want to move to EEA-Unmarried?

I really need your help please! I've been in the UK for 3 years in total. The first two years, I was here on a Tier-5 'Youth Mobility Visa', and when it expired, I returned to New Zealand to obtain a Tier 2 General Visa for which I was successful. I currently work for a large financial services comp...
