Re: Naturalization Approved Letter

I honestly wouldn't know. My recommendation was based on the assumption that all the local council needs to proceed with a ceremony is your certificate. So if they already have that, I can't imagine why anyone would want to wait any further. I think if you call them and ask them if they have your ce...

Re: Naturalization Approved Letter

I could be completely mistaken, but I seem to recall there was some anecdotal evidence from people in this forum pointing towards the fact that you can schedule your ceremony without an invitation letter. When I did mine, all I was asked for was the Home Office reference number, so that the registra...

Re: Application for BC with PR card in old name

Hello - it was a combination of both. I used to have a passport which featured a transliterated variant of my name, as opposed to the proper English version, which is what all my UK ID documents (including drivers licence) are in. The problems started when I was advised by the UKVI helpline that suc...

Re: Test Life in the UK - refused to sit the test

Most distressing. I can't even begin to think what may have gone wrong there. Try logging back to https://www.lituktestbooking.co.uk and check your details there. If they are as you input them, you may want to take this further. It is true though that unless everything matches in terms of your detai...

Re: Application for BC with PR card in old name

Hello - I have had to battle through a similar issue. I have a DCPR in a wrong name and short of reapplying for the same document (which may or may not have resolved the issue) I was left with no other options other than to apply for BC, despite the naming discrepancy. After a lengthy correspondence...

Wrong name in biometrics letter

Hey folks, I'm a bit stumped. After getting a DCPR in an erroneous name, and spending months trying to get the Home Office to amend it (with no success), I was advised to proceed with my naturalisation application using that DCPR and all my supporting IDs, and was told that the discrepancy would not...

Hey - any luck in chasing this up? I just got my confirmation email, and yes, they used my wrong name. Again. I feel helpless.

Re: Spelling mistakes in name by the Home Office

Who told you that? Not that it doesn't make sense, but I wrote an extensive cover letter to highlight the discrepancy and outline my attempts to rectify it and what my MP was able to find out. I hope they at least contact me before they do anything. I am really worried now.

Re: Spelling mistakes in name by the Home Office

I have had a similar situation, whereas my DCPR features an incorrect name and I have no way of rectifying this. The Home Office has no avenue to correct mistakes on a DCPR (with the only option, potentially, is to... reapply for one!). I involved my MP and to this day, I had no luck. What I did get...

Re: No PR date, how to reach HO?

A horrible situation to be in (and makes me worried that it could be the case that my PR date hasn't been recorded, even though I didn't think that were possible). I think you should get your MP involved. They will be able to assist through their enquiry points to UKVI, something that we are not all...

Re: Application Forms

Just called Sutton NCS. Machine-typed is fine, but the referees section needs to be hand-written, and obviously the signature needs to be hand-made.

Makes sense. I've got an appointment in September with them and will do just that.

Re: Unsuccessful Naturalisation (AN) applications

Apologies - my statement of fact was tied to an assumption on my part, and that is whether the OP provided sufficient documentation for a period outside the last five years. I assumed that they did not. PR was indeed acquired on 2013 (judging by the timeline), but if the OP only applied for a DCPR b...

Sorry to break it to you, but unless you are married to a British citizen, you needed to have held the PR card for a full year before applying for citizenship. Applying for reconsideration will most likely result in further rejection.

Absences mistake

Hey folks - I'm an EU national in receipt of a DCPR, and in the process of filling the AN form. The issue is that I discovered that I made an erroneous declaration on the EEA (PR) form about an absence. I mis-stated the year (it was 2016 as opposed to 2015). I discovered the error while double-check...

Re: HO email: 'No DCPR for EEA nationals married to BCs'

It might come down to that... but what do you make of the response from the HO? By their reckoning, a DCPR is not required. That's a pretty big mistake to make, don't you think?

Re: HO email: 'No DCPR for EEA nationals married to BCs'

My email was a bit more wide-ranging than that, but in a nutshell, I specified that I have a DCPR and wondered whether I should proceed with my AN application regardless of the naming discrepancy. So in essence, their response indicates that I shouldn't worry about the DCPR as according to them, it'...

HO email: 'No DCPR for EEA nationals married to BCs'

Hey folks, We all know that the UKVI helpline cannot be relied on, but would you have any previous experience on the level of advice passed on by the Further Nationality Enquiries email account ? I emailed them about a case of being in receipt of a DCPR (as an EEA national married to a BC) which has...

By the way, can you please let me know where on the blue DCPR card and I find the number ? I need the document number for a future citizenship application and I am a bit confused. Re: UKVI contact EEA (EU) PR

Thanks guys - I'm concerned that there is no official avenue to get this corrected, whereas there is a dedicated email to report errors found on BRCs (in fact, the confirmation email for the DCPR links to the BRC page should you want to get in contact - and when you do, you're told that they have no...
