Re: Problems with Visa4UK website

I thought I would detail my experience with the lost BRP of my wife in the hope that it will help other people. As mentioned my wife had her Pakistani passport and her BRP stolen along with the British passports of my daughter and I. We immediately reported the documents stolen and got a police repo...

Problems with Visa4UK website

Hi all - hope you can assist. Whilst on a trip to Paris our passports and my wife's BRP were stolen. We immediately applied for a replacement passport from the Pakistan embassy in Paris and the passport should be with us by this Tuesday 17th. In the mean time I have submitted an application for an e...

Re: Checklist for newly arrived to UK

Yes I called the National Insurance phone number and they sent a form through. Once completed I posted it along with the documentary evidence and my wife received her NI about two weeks later. Interestingly it was a letter rather than a card which I got when I turned 16. Now I have her NI number I h...

Re: Spouse Visa - English language requirement

Wowzers that changed suddenly. And the price has gone up to £125 - ouch! If you are applying for a spouse visa then you need to go via the red route and use "The new UK NARIC VisasAndNationality service". The VisasAndNationality service supports applications made through the following PBS (Points-Ba...

Pretty straight forward - applied online and submitted both the degree certificate and the transcript (so grades achieved for each module) as a photo/scan. I got my letter confirmation a couple of weeks later.

Re: Spouse Visa - English language requirement

I have just checked here: https://www.gov.uk/join-family-in-uk/kn ... of-english

The only thing that has changed from 6th April is the list of approved tests and test centres. If you use NARIC to have your partner's degree evaluated this change won't apply to you.

Re: Tuberculosis Test Requirement for entering

According to this page: https://www.gov.uk/tb-test-visa/overview If your test shows that you don’t have TB, you’ll be given a certificate which is valid for 6 months. Include this certificate with your UK visa application. Nothing in there about having it with you. When I submitted my documents all ...

Have a look here for what documents you need at the visa centre in Pakistan: http://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/pakistan/how_to_apply.html I was informed by another member by PM that when his wife arrived in the UK the airport staff did not ask for the TB certificate. I used the gov.uk website and these forums to prepare my wife's visa application. You really don't need solicitors for the initial application and as from your above example they can be incompetent and actually make matters worse. Sorry to hear this happened to you but if you or your representatives...
