Re: Naturalisation application processing timelines (only)

Finally. Might have taken longer than other January applications because 1. I lost the card that I listed on the payment forms and 2. all three of us had dual citizenship. Good luck everyone! This is for two AN 6(1) naturalisation applications: mother & father and one MN1 3(1) child registration. Al...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

So I got annoyed with HO because all January AN applications except ours seem to be approved (including some February ones) and I emailed them this morning at NationalitySupportTeamFMT@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk to ask them to confirm that the application is in order and that they don't need extra infor...

Re: January 2018 Naturalisation TIMELINES ONLY

First to apply, almost last to get it :) Not sure if the fact that we had dual citizenship delayed the process. Or that I lost the bank card listed as payment. In any case, good luck everyone! This is for two x AN 6(1) naturalisation applications and one MN1 3(1) registration of child born abroad. E...

Re: Applying as EEA or Canadian citizen confusion?

She cannot apply as a Canadian. Canadians can only stay in the UK for up to 6 months, this is what I was told when I entered the UK on a Canadian passport (I have dual Can - EEA citizenship as well). She needs health insurance and 5 years of exercising treaty rights, counting from now.... Sorry, but...

Re: MN1 for a child born outside UK. Re: PR

I believe you can register her using form MN1 under section 3(1) "registration at discretion". If one parent is BC and the other has PR it's very likely that she will be granted citizenship. I'm not a solicitor though. PS. This is the list of documents you will need - I'm not sure if the child needs...

When did you apply if you don't mind me asking?
Applied on 3 January via NCS/JCAP application at Wandsworth Council. Biometrics done on 13 January. It looks like so many January (and now February) applications have been decided, that's why I emailed them.

That's great - means that you'll have a decision soon. :) What was the exact text you wrote to them in email please (if you don't mind me asking). They never ever reply to any email I send!!! :( Thanks. This is what I wrote, and added our names, dates of birth, and case numbers: Hello there, can yo...

@alterhase58 I read somewhere that council tax bills and bank statements are not good/preferred evidence for residency, in the case of naturalisation applications.

I know... but don't understand why they don't re-activate that online status check. All it needs to say - we have your application and all documents needed to process your application. As it stands, no one can tell if perhaps you were approved and didn't get the letter or perhaps HO sent a letter to...

moan about timeline

Hi, it appears that most people who applied in January for naturalisation were already approved (not only online applications, but also NCS ones or post ones). And now some people who applied in February got their approval. I'm starting to worry about our applications made on the 3rd of Jan... two A...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

The online applications are incredibly fast... I've applied on the 3rd of January via NCS and it's so frustrating to see that many January applications are already approved. (also some NCS ones). From the moment we submitted biometrics the method of application should not make a difference... they s...

He proposed to apply before leaving the UK in November using discretion.
And pay him a hefty fee to "help" you with your application even though you clearly wouldn't qualify in November?

I'd get a 2nd solicitor opinion if I were in your shoes. (or even better, postpone the move).

Re: Documents with MN1 Form

I believe you need to send both parents' passports as well (originals or certified copies by solicitor). And original ILRs. Also other stuff might apply, see below:

This link has a good overview of what's needed. P60s and employer letters should suffice. Bills, council tax statements and bank statements are not useful for AN applications.

For naturalisation you have to provide all valid passports for all countries you're a citizen of, from what I know. I wouldn't bother with the IDs unless you used them to take the LITUK test.

Re: EEA national, NCS processed, application refused - what next

I would definitely contact my MP if I were you. Their process is deeply flawed. They need to ask for proof of delivery in such cases - or simply email you or call you and ask for confirmation. They cannot base their decision on a letter that may or may not have been delivered to you. Best of luck! P...

I do not know but I suspect yes. Ring the passport office and ask them... they are more responsive than the HO immigration office.

If I were you, I would try to simulate a PR application online for yourself (you don't have to submit it, just get to the end of it and see what documents the system will ask you to prove your PR status).

Re: British Passport for Baby of EU national

Hi, the way I read it you don't have to provide ALL of that. For my PR application as a worker I only sent my passport, five P60s and five council tax statements for the 5 years, plus one employment confirmation letter to back up the P60s (I worked for one employer). I also had a registration card, ...
