Re: Visit UK without Family Permit

Thanks Vinny Yes, I'm pretty sure we/they do qualify under Surinder Singh, and we do/can tick all the boxes in 9 (2)-(5) If I understand correctly, the FP is only valid for 6 months and appears primarily for applicants who wish to stay in the UK - unlike us who only want to visit for a week now and ...

Visit UK without Family Permit

Hi all Please forgive me if this has been answered, but I can't find a recent similar question... I'm a British citizen, living and working in Spain for the past 13 months. Prior to this I lived in S E Asia - married there 4 years ago. We moved here as a family. My wife and step daughter have EU art...

Re: New EU deal: Free-movement rights gone?

So I'm UK citizen (but living outside the EU). I have a non-EU spouse and step-daughter. We were planning a move next year to Spain under free-movement.../quote] Have you studied the Spanish 'domestic' rules on immigration? From what little I can find, which may be 2 years out of date, it seems to ...

Re: New EU deal: Free-movement rights gone?

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm a non-EU with EU husband, both of us living outside the EU and planning to move to Ireland this summer with no intention of moving to the UK either. Short answer: Nobody knows. My husband and I were thinking of leaving earlier, but we decided not to risk it since we...

Re: New EU deal: Free-movement rights gone?

Can I just jump in here with my question? I did originally post in the Europe Forum, but was told to post here. Re: Is derived free movement of non-EU spouses effectively o Postby Casa » Sun Feb 21, 2016 4:47 pm We don't need another thread on this. There is already one running, please post there: e...

Re: Holiday to Spain (UK citizen husband, non-EU wife)

Honestly I don't know about the Residence Card thing. If you have a UK passport the (current) rules under Free Movement of family members, your wife only has to prove marriage to you (by way of Marriage Certificate) and the short stay visa should be be issued free-of-charge and supposed to be issued...

Re: Is derived free movement of non-EU spouses effectively o

Yes, this is how I read it also. Does anyone have thoughts on when this is likely to take affect? In my personal situation, I'm a UK national, living and married non-EU (Asia) for the past 6 years. We were considering moving to Spain next year under free-movement rights (self, non-EU wife and step-d...
