Re: Post Brexit Discussion

I will certainly use the information when it comes time to apply for citizenship. The value of that citizenship has just been greatly diminished. Very unfortunate, but I guess we just have to fight through it all and carry on. Exactly my dilemma... I was just about to go for citizenship, yet now I ...

Re: DCPR validity after passport renewed

The DCPR's validity is not tied to your current passport. It remains valid, even if you renew your passport as it is a document of its own :) (as opposed to vignettes which are placed in passports for example). Thanks, that's good to know... what confuses me I think is this "You can apply for a new...

Re: DCPR validity after passport renewed

You can apply with your passport in Aug/Sept. There is no requirement for the passport to be valid for X months for citizenship applications. Suggest apply for citizenship using NCS at the council, you then get to keep your original documents. That's the easiest of all options, excellent! :) Many t...

DCPR validity after passport renewed

Hi, I've just recently received my DCPR (EEA citizen exercising treaty rights) with the intention of applying for naturalisation later this year. However my EEA passport will expire in Jan 2017 and I'm not sure what to do, I'd very much appreciate if someone shared their thoughts... If I renew my pa...

Re: Application for PR or PR card: form EEA (PR) - UpToDate

Posting here as well as some people here seemed to be in the same boat applying for DCPR in March. Here is our completed timeline: I can't believe it, after the long wait it finally arrived :) All documents in one envelope, it required signature. This was a joint application with my wife, both EEA(8...

Re: DCPR for EEA citizens application timeline

I can't believe it, after the long wait it finally arrived :) All documents in one envelope, it required signature. This was a joint application with my wife, both EEA(8), 6 years of UK history, I'm the qualified person as I had continuous employment, WRS ok, and her as family member. I think it was...

Re: Application for PR or PR card: form EEA (PR) - UpToDate

To be honest I really don't understand why EU citizens need this card! Are we not in the European Union? All EU citizens can live and work in UK. So because my husband (who is applicant) is from Brazil he will wait longer Believe me no one is doing it just for the fun. For EU citizens having a PR i...

Re: Application for PR or PR card: form EEA (PR) - UpToDate

Thank you for your reply salmintin. No I never tried to call them, I don't even know what number to call but I think at some point I will need to. I follow other people's cases here and as I see everybody received at least an email with case number and I never did. That's why I am not sure if they ...

Re: Application for PR or PR card: form EEA (PR) - UpToDate

I wanted to share my timeline once it's complete, but it takes awfully long now, I'm wondering if there is anyone in the same boat. It's getting a bit unpleasant as we need to travel next week and we didn't request our passports back as I never imagined it would take this long. :| I think this shou...

Re: Traveling while waiting for EEA(PR) decision

Greetings :) I've been living in the UK for the last 11 years as a EU national (arrived in 2005) All my best, Bart  For EU (EEA) nationals the PR application usually takes 6-8 weeks, your mileage may vary but late July should be fine for you. Check this thread for timeline examples, I didn't ...

Re: Application for PR or PR card: form EEA (PR) - UpToDate

They received my application on 08.03, but still no sign of payment taken :( Getting a bit worried now. I saw that it typically takes up to 3 days. I'll give it a few more days, but I'm not sure what I should do if they still fail to take the payment... Same here, well almost, they received ...

Re: EEA PR Section 16 - benefit of family member?

Mea culpa, Contribution-Based JSA is not mentioned on the form, as a state benefit, only the income-based one, so we don't even need to include this document. The first question still unanswered though, if we need to enlist benefit received by the non-relevant person in the PR application.

Re: EEA PR Section 16 - benefit of family member?

Found the documents in the meantime, so I'll just enclose them just to be sure. Although Jobcentre had misspelled my wife name and put MISS instead of MRS  I hope that's not going to confuse HO if I'm including various documents proving our relationship, or will it?

EEA PR Section 16 - benefit of family member?

Hi, I'm about to apply for PR as an EEA citizen as someone who is exercising treaty rights (so I'm the applicant and the relevant person), in the same application with my wife as an EEA family member. I'm a bit confused about this joint application when it comes to Secion 16 (Public funds): I never ...

Re: Can EEA husband be sponsor for PR

just to be clear, are you submitting an application for 2 family members - you and your husband - and only your husband exercising treaty rights (ie has continuous employment) but has no PR card yet? Is this the case?
