Re: Foreign Birth Registration

My kids received their certificates today, just updating the timeline. All documents returned except one, not an important one, just one relating to a name change for me. Oh well. Would rather have their FBRs than that document back any day, I won't complain lol! Online application Mar 03 2021 Docum...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Are we going to look much like our 2yr old selves either down the line? The updated photo request seems excessive. At what point should we fix a child's image? My kid got Canadian citizenship by descent born outside of Canada, photograph on his citizenship card is of him at 11 days old. He's a 6ft2 ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hello all, first contact from FBR team today, thought it might be of interest to some as my son was under 18 when we applied (barely, I rammed the application in hoping to save on the adult fee!) and of course is now an adult. I've seen others ask on here what happens in that case, and can report ba...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I feel a bit worried now as I sent mine not long after reopening on 18th Nov. Royal mail show tracked and delivered 22nd November but I haven't had any emails. Did everybody get a confirmation email? I sent my kids (two in same packet, one was a child now an adult!) in March 2021, tracking showed r...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Same boat here, only my son’s cutoff is far more imminent - I sent paperwork off 3rd March 2021 and he will turn 18 in May 2021. I paid the child fee as he was a minor when I signed and sent the forms, and I’m expecting it to be processed as such, not his fault it won’t be opened for a year or so. W...

Re: Citizenship for adoptee if Irish father not on birth cer

Anyone know? Still haven't managed to get any replies from the citizenship office other than telling me to ask the passport office, and the passport people just refer me to their website which has no information to cover my scenario :( Grateful for any input.

Citizenship for adoptee if Irish father not on birth cert?

Hello, I was born in England, adopted in Scotland and live in Canada. I obtained my original birth details some time ago and my birth father is Irish, born in Ireland (as were both his parents, grandparents etc). He is not named on my English birth certificate but completely accepts he is my father....
