Re: Is the Nationality Checking Service useful or not? [EEA route]

NCS totally wasted my time and money. Attended the appointment and they refused to submit my application for lack of residence proof yet I had covered all gaps with official government cover letters. I posted my application straight after my NCS appointment and it was approved, applied for my passpo...

Re: British Passport Interview

Hello All, I applied a British passport after the Naturalisation. I received my documents from passport office yesterday. Will it be an interview compulsory for everyone who applied first adult passport? or will it be random interviews? Please share your experience kindly. Passport interview is ran...

Re: Interview For First Passport After Naturalisation

If the application is submitted through the NCS JCAP service no interview is required. There appears to have been a review of the rules of some sort as I did not submit my application through NCS, it was a postal application and so was the passport application which was not via check and send and I...

Passport received today without the need for an interview. I certainly hope it's their new policy as it makes total sense.

Re: First passport without interview (Not JCAP)

All I remember is that the lady who did the ceremony asked me if I was applying for a passport immediately and she seemed to tick something on the ID check form which I had previously confirmed to be correct, and she said she would be sending that back to UKVI. Mine wasn't even NCS though, it was a ...

Re: First passport without interview (Not JCAP)

Mystery solved, answering my own question here. Called passport office and they have confirmed that my passport has been printed and will be with me within a few days. Apparently the note on my application was that HMPO will forego the interview as my details all checked out during my ceremony (had ...

First passport without interview (Not JCAP)

I applied for my first passport on the 31st July and today received a text that my passport will be with me within a few working days, even though I have not attended an interview yet. Could this be some sort of mistake?

Re: Need Urgent Help got Letter from Home Office..

Hi , my understanding is bit different so it's my own personal opinion .. IMHO , you are being asked for your degree ( Bsc / Msc ) to be equivalent to UK Bachelor degree not the english language requirement . Call your uni , get letter saying your medium of instruction at uni was english send to UK...

You now meet the language requirement so there is no need for any other proof apart from the Trinity College certificate.

Re: application refused due to not providing proof of reside

I did send my Indefinite Leave to remain in the UK - Settlement - hence the reason I did not send any other documentation Really would have thought that if it was just the missing passport they would request for further proof before an outright refusal..... Re: Decision Letter and Prepaid Special Delivery Envelope

Your documents will likely come in the prepaid envelope. The decision letter comes in an A5 brown envelope, 2nd class mail (looks a bit like junkmail post). My partner's documents arrived in a brown envelope together with her Special Delivery SAE enclosed a year ago this month, initially missed the...

Yes, a waste I know, considering they don't even bother to send back passports etc securely, it's a privilege and not a right so be a good new citizen and don't complain ;-)

On average, how long it takes to get the letter from HO?
