Help Please! Spouse Visa from USA - Do I have to use VFS?

Hi there, I completed the online application form and booked an appointment for my Spouse Visa in the NYC Visa Center. However, it has among the "Next Steps" to go to the VFS website. I did this, but it is only giving me one option which is a $2K premium processing fee. If I have already paid for pr...

Hi there, I am Australian with British dual nationality. My husband (Australian) and I currently live in the USA and I am being transferred back to London for work. My husband has had Leave to Remain previously as we lived in the UK for 3 years before, but his LTR expired in November. We are applyin...

Re: Returning to UK from USA - can I re-apply for ILR?

Basically just need to know if there's any way he can enter the country at the same time as me (whether with a visa or as a visitor), rather than remaining in the US until his visa is approved?

Thanks so much for your help

Re: Returning to UK from USA - can I re-apply for LTR?

My transfer is happening in the next couple weeks (the British citizen). Will my husband have to wait until his spouse visa is approved before joining me? Is he unable to enter as a visitor on his Australian passport and then apply? If he has to apply from outside the UK, is there a way to expedite ...

Re: Returning to UK from USA - can I re-apply for LTR?

Hi there, Thanks so much for your help here. I had a question- if we go this route for Leave to Remain, can we apply from within the UK? Or does this need to happen from outside the UK? "1. You (as the sponsor) would need to submit evidence of the last 12 months earnings in the US, showing the equiv...

Re: Returning to UK from USA - can I re-apply for ILR?

Whoops! Sorry, looks like my partner actually previously had "leave to remain" visa and not "indefinite leave to remain."

Will repost on correct board(unless you possibly happen to know what the options would be in this case :D)

Returning to UK from USA - can I re-apply for ILR?

I have an Australian passport and was living in the UK on an ILR Spouse visa before leaving, which has now expired. My wife has dual citizenship in Australia and UK. I have been living in the US for just over 1 year and am looking to move back within the next 6 - 12 months. I found that I can re-app...

Re: Can I use my wife's pay for the financial requirement?

Thank you very much!
Just one last question - I couldn't see anywhere on the form to say if we're going for the two year route or the five year route. Is there anything we need to do to apply for the five year? Is the cost and all the information required the same as the two years?
Thanks again!!

Re: Can I use my wife's pay for the financial requirement?

Hi there, I have a quick question for question 3.15 is your partner British from birth.. My partner has a British passport as her father is English. She was born in Australia though. Do I count that as British from birth or put in that she has a passport via British father? Thank you!!

Re: Can I use my wife's pay for the financial requirement?

Thank you, just one more sorry.. I think I read on the application that I can send a copy of my wife's full passport. Do I need to send original copies of my passport and current visa, or can I also provide a full copy of my passport and visa?
Thank you!

Re: Can I use my wife's pay for the financial requirement?

If the visa gets approved do we have to leave the country and come back in? Thanks! No!! It is a visa extension application, not an entry clearance application. Okay thank you very much. I wasn't sure as I am currently on a T5 Youth Mobility Visa and would be moving on to FLRM. I've been reading so...

Re: Can I use my wife's pay for the financial requirement?

Thank you for all your help! Just one more question sorry - do we have to leave the country at all to apply for an FLR(M) ? If so, does it have to be back to our home country?
Or can we just stay in the country when we apply and when the visa clicks over to the new visa?
Thanks again!

Oh wow, that's all a bit crazy. Thanks very much for all your help - much more helpful than the guidance notes for the application!
Just quickly, how long can someone enter the UK with an Australian passport for if they're entering for tourism and not working?
Thanks again!

Re: Can I use my wife's pay for the financial requirement?

I saw this is the requirement for myself, but is this the same if I use my wife's income instead? Is that allowed? She is a British Citizen and earns enough for both of us.
Thanks

Can I use my wife's pay for the financial requirement?

Hi there,
I am in between jobs at the moment and about to apply for FLRM - spouse visa indefinite leave to remain.
Can I use my wife's salary for the financial requirement? If yes, how much does she have to earn to cover me?
Thank you,
Brohdie
