Hi Naxxan, I'm not sure why it was so quick. But having looked at and judging from other people's timelines it seems my timeline was more of an exception. I did the paper form since I had already filled it out a couple of months ago before they had the online option and it was just sitting at home. ...

Thanks to everyone who replied to my query below. I finally received an email from UKVI this week to say my application had been received and is being processed. I'm very relieved after hearing nothing for over a month! Still no sign that they've taken the money from my account but I'm guessing this...
