Re: Naturalisation: Can Irish spouse be a reference?

Hi Zepman, I have not applied for citizenship through marriage. I'm only married 2 years so i wouldn't have been eligible. My application was based on being in the country for the last 12 years and not using my husband as reference was the advice i got from INIS. Good luck with your application! Ah...

Re: Naturalisation: Can Irish spouse be a reference?

I have applied for citizenship and likewise, my 3rd reference was my Irish hubby. I was told that the husband can't be my reference, so i had to get some one else .. Thanks for your reply! Having your spouse as your reference does seem obvious that you probably shouldn't do that. Yes, it's obvious ...

Naturalisation: Can Irish spouse be a reference?

My wife will be applying for naturalisation soon based on her marriage to me (I became an Irish citizen by naturalisation last year). I have been wondering if I could be one of 3 Irish referees required for Section 14 of Form 8. Thinking from the perspective of an application reviewer, I would think...

Re: Residence proofs for naturalisation

Is not there a rule that you have to be an Irish citizen yourself for at least 3 years before your wife applies for naturalisation based on your marriage? No, the rule is that you have to be married for at least 3 years. The citizenship of the spouse during that period is irrelevant, as long as the...

Yeah, that's evident from your first post. I just wanted to correct inaccurate information for the sake of others who might be in a similar position and reading this thread. :D

Re: Residence proofs for naturalisation

Regarding Question 2: You can use - insurance/clinic visits/ letters from GP or anything that has a date, her name, and address. Good luck. Thanks, Tatalo. I was aware of that, but she really had no documents in her name prior to 2015 since I was on temporary work contracts until then and we hadn't...

Residence proofs for naturalisation

Hi, My wife will be applying for naturalisation next year based on her marriage to me (I became an Irish citizen by naturalisation earlier this year). We have been married since mid-2012 and she's been living in Ireland since around the same time as well. So she already satisfies the 3-years-of-resi...

Re: Citizenship query - submit 2 additional utility bills within 28 days

Yes, I already submitted P60, Revenue documents, employer letter, payslips and Bank statements for last 5 years Okay, that's what I asked in my first reply - whether you have submitted the required number of more proofs of residence (i.e., 3) for each year. Now it looks like you have submitted more...

I submitted 5 years of ESB bills, but they want 2 more utility bills for 5 years. I don't have any more Utility bills register with my name. Please advise Okay, it looks like you missed it but it's mentioned in the required documentation section of the application form that they need " Three d...

Re: Irish citizenship references question

What do you mean by "...like the application form..."? The references section is part of the application form and hence the black pen/writing in block capitals rule applies to it as well. It may not be a big deal and they might actually accept it as it is, but I personally wouldn't do it a...

What information are you going to be withholding? The question refers merely to studying based residence, your wife had not residence for studying purpose at any stage as per the information provided by you. If you put “Yes” it will imply that she was at some stage a Stamp 2 holder which is the sta...

Re: Studying on Stamp 3 - effect on naturalisation applicati

@indianzeppelin I would put “No” but that’s my personal opinion. Your wife’s residence here was on Stamp 3 until recently that she changed it to Stamp 4, her residence was never on the basis of studying. You're right. As I said, "No" makes sense based on the phrasing of the question. Howe...

Studying on Stamp 3 - effect on naturalisation application

Hi, I got naturalised as an Irish citizen last month following which, my wife got her Stamp 4. Before this, she was on Stamp 3 starting from the time she entered Ireland, 5 years ago. She was enrolled in a Master's program in the 2015-2016 academic year during which she continued to be on Stamp 3. N...
