Re: Next citizenship ceremonies will be in Spring 2020

I do feel a bit worried about INIS's approach though. It was posted to their own website and it only gives people 2 days to respond. Most people who got approval won't check INIS's website on a daily basis, Maybe it was added in later, but the statement does say that candidates will be notified by ...

Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

I remember that in the year leading up to my application, I was particular about not travelling abroad That's all well and good, but for many of us being 'particular' about traveling abroad would involve us needing to quit our jobs or go on career leave for that year. I still argue that less than 1...

Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

I disagree that only 1% will succeed. It is not unusual for a person not to have travelled in a 12 months calender year. Agreed. When I applied for mine 3 years ago, I hadn't gone out of the country the year immediately prior to the application date. My wife applied for hers last year, and her appl...

Re: Studying on Stamp 3 - effect on naturalisation application

For the benefit of others who might be in a similar position, we answered "No" to the question and attached a sheet explaining it. The explanation said that she enrolled in a Master's program a few years after arriving in Ireland and that this enrolment was not the purpose behind her residence, poin...

Re: Which additional docs do they request for naturalisation?

They don't always ask for anything. If you cover everything off in your application form with the documents requested, then you shouldn't have to provide anything else. We didn't have to provide anything extra beyond the stuff with the application. This. I applied mid-2016 on the basis of having 5 ...

Based on your two posts, this is what I understand - Situation: S1) You will complete 5 years of residence in Ireland soon. S2) Your immigration stamp (i.e., Stamp 4, not visa) will expire in October 2018. Questions: Q1) How do I apply for citizenship after you complete 5 years of residence? Q2) How...
