Re: ILR Application Timing

Great, thank you for confirming. We'll just need to wait. Aside from working as skilled worker for two firms her application is as straight forward as it comes (and that isnt complicated) but who knows when these things are being reviewed... She's received no notificaiton about it being complicated ...

Re: ILR Application Timing

As I explained (perhaps not worded clearly though) The appointment was made on the 13th FOR the 17th (today). So it would seem we managed the appointment appropriately. That is what we wanted to confirm is ok, which is what we understood from Lol0’s response (that it was the 17th inclusive) our r ...

Re: ILR Application Timing

Wife went to biometrics with a super priority appointment today. She was in/out in less than 10 minutes (nice). Understanding that the decision is due ''by the end of the next working day'' she grows worried not having a result same day and would like to reconfirm timings as we have noted before ...

Re: ILR Application Timing

I have a further clarification/confirmation: In reading the advice around Section 3C it would appear my wife could submit her application online before the July 17th date (Qualifying period of August 14 subtract 28 days), so for example July 14th, and then select a biometrics enrollment date of July ...

Re: ILR Application Timing

Thank you for confirming (and merging the topics), both are appreciated. We’ll use the August submission date as start of her qualifying 5 year period and apply during the 28 days before then. Thank you!

ILR Application Timing

Apologies for creating a new thread on a topic I've previously started but they appear locked/dead so posting here. Wife currently on skilled worker visa, we had been operating under a November 2020 date (when BRP was issued) for an October 2025 ILR application. However, I've seen information that ...

Post ILR Question

One point of confirmation for wife's journey post ILR is that it makes zero difference how/when I became a bitish citizen for her own naturalization. As I am (and she would meet the other requirements) she could immedaitely apply for naturalization/citizenship immedaitely upon being granted ILR (not ...

You’re right, I forgot. Though as immigrations rules are not static and this is a forum I figured a good place to ask.

Thanks!!!!

Re: ILR Timeline for Spouse

Thank you, this aligns with what i've seen/assumed and agreed staying on work visa is the quickest and our current plan. We just wanted to get a sense check. Her original ICT visa was issued in Feb 2016 (so well after the 2010 cut-off/change i've seen mentioned elsewhere). One question. You note ...

ILR Timeline for Spouse

My spouse originally had an ICT Tier 2 Visa which swtiched to a dependent of my Tier 2 visa effective Feb 2017, subsequently in November of 2020 she obtained her own Tier 2/Skilled worker visa which she has held continiously ever since (though through different companies). I am now a UK citizen. My ...

Re: Pathway to ILR

Great, thanks all for the comments all. Understood on the flexibility in working if on the family visa though its unlikely she'd change jobs again before ILR. So ideally a new office would pick up the visa and any associated costs/logistics. We wanted to confirm that if they didnt she'd not be back ...

Re: Pathway to ILR

Wife's Visa History: March 2016 - Jan 2017 (9 months) Tier 2 ICT Feb 2017 - Oct 2020 (2 years 9 months) Tier 2G Dependent Nov 2020 - Current - Skilled worker (it is our understanding that her clock towards ILR is running from Nov 2020, so she would be eligible for ILR on/about Nov 2025) Basically ...

Pathway to ILR

I have a ILR pathway question for my wife. She is currently on her own Skilled worker visa which will take her well past the min 5 year period on that visa type to apply to ILR (and then citizenship). Before having her own skiller worker Visa she was a dependent on my Tier 2/skilled worker visa for ...

Re: TravelPre/Post Ceremony

No, nothing handed out. Only verbally conveyed. Agreed for citizens of 'visa free' countries (such as USA) not an issue and likely ok. But in a group setting of 40-50 people I see no way they could they confidently make that advise. Still intersting nonetheless.

Re: TravelPre/Post Ceremony

As a note/update I just had my citizenship ceremony (Lambeth Council, London) and at the conclusion of the ceremony the registrar loudly and pointedly noted that 'if you have upcoming/immediate travel to do so and then apply for your UK passport after that travel'. They made no qualifications or ...

I received approval of my application this morning and have three international trips planned between now and Oct 15th. TravelPre/Post Ceremony

My job often requires short notice travel (to USA) at client request (I hold a USA passport/citizenship). Looking through other posts on this it would seem the following is (while not encouraged) acceptable and would not hinder either entering the country or finalizing my pathway to citizenship (and ...
