Re: Check the status of your application online - New service

My wife (non EU-Japanese Citizen) applied along with our 3 children in mid June, biometrics submitted in the first week of July. There was an issue with one on my girl's date of birth on biometrics letter and it took us over a month to get it sorted. Yesterday around lunch time her online status cha...

Re: Change of Name and British Passport

HMPO will not issue you a passport with a name different to what you have on your existing passport. I did try this and no success. I am dual Polish- British citizen, and had to change my name on my polish passport first (nothing but hassle) and only then would HMPO issue me a british passport with ...

Wrong DOB on biometrics letter

Hi all. I applied for my daughter MN1 on the 14 th of June, and two weeks ago we received biometrics letter for her. However they got the date of birth wrong. So, as adviced by HO hepline, we did send an email to biometrics saying they did get it wrong. I also sent a letter first class recorded to s...

Re: Failed citizenship application due to PR

Hi please don't take it personally but I don't think you have any ground of claiming your fee back tbh, in the end of the day it was you who did not understand what type of document they HO sent you? If you did bother to read permanent residence requirements properly before applying and I assume tha...

Re: Form T

Once you've got your pr just use mn1 form and register child as British under section 1(3)(if your child was born here in the UK).The easiest way although not cheap.

Re: Ncs for registering children as BC?

I am just filling the mn1 form for one of my girls. Now, one of the questions asks for the date when the child has aquired PR status. Not sure what date is relevant? the child arrived to the uk in aug 2007 never left the counrty apart fot holidays abroad. I got my PR in sept 2014 (British Citizen si...

Re: CCJ from Private Parking firm - Paid within 1 month

It will appear in courts system which we do not have access to. HO do have their tools to check it. Declare it and attach explanation note, this should not be a problem.

Ncs for registering children as BC?

Hi all. I want to register my children as British Citizens, they have been born in the UK but before I actually aquired PR. I become British Citizen last year. Do I book NCS for them in a same way that I did for myself? Do they offer JCAP for children as well? How does it look like with the ceremony...

Supporting documents expiry date?

Hi all, do the supporting documents have an expiry date?
I am thinking about applying for my child but have just noticed that her birth certificate, my marriage certificate are dated as of september last year so over 6 months old. Do they expire or is it safe for me to send them off?

Do not worry, you are overthinking this
I am Polish too and my name has one letter with accent as well never had issues throughout the naturalisation process, neither with HO nor with the HM Passport Office for that matter. Good luck :)

Re: EEA residence

Even if your children are British Citizens you would have to have exercised treaty rights for 5 years as a qualified person in order to gain permanent residence under EEA route. Qualified person is someone who is a worker, self employed (MET test applies I think), student and self sufficient person ...

Re: Really worried for Administrative Caution

You are supposed to disclose it, it does not matter how long ago it actually happened ( read the AN guide, it states it clearly), not sure about the effect on your application though. Good luck.

MET test

Hi all. My mum (EEA citizen) wants to apply for a PR. She has been self employed person for the past 5-6 years. For the first few years of her activity she did not earn much, well not enough to pass MET trst anyway. Since early 2015 things have improved and she started to get decent income. Would HO...

I am not an expert but think that you will have to show tax return and NI contributions statements for any period you were self employed.

Re: Deed Poll & Joint Citizenship and Passport Service

HMPO will almost certainly not issue you new passport with name that is different from the name on your current passport. Deed poll certificate and your bills will not be enoungh, they want to see your current passport with your new name on it.

Re: JCAP - my current EU Passport ?!

I too did JCAP. I had my passport photocopied, then returned back to me. After the ceremony council notifies HMPO that you have attended and you should get your new passport within few working days. Mine took only 6 days to arrive.

Re: Birth certificate - multilingual or certified translatio

I have got one of those issued under EU regulation (extract from the register). Used it many times - not need to translate (as it's already done...), That's exactly what I thought. No need for translation as already in plain English. Was just talking with HO helpline and guess what they have said -...

Birth certificate - multilingual or certified translation
