English language requirements

Dear all, My apologies if this has been asked before. I have done a search but couldn't find relevant information. My sis, also a doctor, has valid GMC registration and applying for skilled worker visa from her home country. She has received her CoS from the HR. She had done IELTs as a part of GMC r...

It is worth waiting for the outcome from the Court of Appeal, then the minister may decide to make law that will have retrospective effect if the views of the High Court is upheld.
Thanks. I hope sanity will prevail.

Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

Worth noting that INIS is not the law of the land. They are simply setting out what they feel, that view is not even a legal advise or opinion, just a mere assertion. The views of the minister or the ministry of Justice is only relevant in circumstances where statute gives it a discretion or an abs...

You will need a visa for Ireland.
Ireland is not a part of the UK not since 1922 anyway.

But I would let others to advice you about the type of visa you'd need.

Cheers.

Re: Citizenship process

Well, my understanding is that if your application is at "well advanced" stage, then a decision has already been made. All that remains is receiving a letter in the post. I wouldn't worry too much about which team its from. Unfortunately, the only way to know for sure if its good news or bad, is to ...

The 5 years need not be continuous. Its the last year before application that should be continuous.

Re: Children citizenship processing time

Salam. I applied for my four year old in May and got the approval late september. Once the approval is received, you need to send a 200 Euro bank draft with photos and then wait for the certificate in the post. Its a recorded delivery by the way. Although the application form doesnt mention anything...

Re: 3 or 5 Years, Stamps and By Association/Descent.

I don't think p60 or other tax documents are mandatory. But proof of address is. You would need three different ones. Bank statements, utility bills, HSE letters, GP letters, etc. They are quite flexible with what constitute as a proof of address, unlike the UK banks, for example. I am sure because ...

Re: 3 or 5 Years, Stamps and By Association/Descent.

Hey, I think I can answer the second part of your question to some extent. Your last year can still be continuous if you are out of the country for a maximum of six weeks. I have not seen a clear and legal reference to this cut off but have known people who were refused for staying out two days over...

Apologies for a non-immigration related reply but please report him for domestic violence. Assaulting you with kids in the house should be deterred here and now. One interview with the cops or a court appearance should sort him out.

Re: UK visit non-eu family of Irish citizen

It all seems too risky. Losing the holidays is one thing, but having an adverse impact on my daughters or my wife's immigration history what i totally hope to avoid. Travelling on passports and formal evidence of family relationships is perfectly legal so long as you enter via Immigration. You may ...

Re: UK visit non-eu family of Irish citizen

Not sure who it was actually but they asked for my passport and searched my car at Holyhead. They were choosing people at random. Was either the Police or the UKBA as it was then. Have u registered the car in Ireland? The Guards are noting cars plates now at Dublin Port, all the Brits at work have ...

Re: UK visit non-eu family of Irish citizen

Thanks. My wife does have a public services card but my four year old would need to show her passport I guess? Your wife and daughter will need their passports - unless you're planning to lie that they're Irish. That would be very obvious because we neither look nor speak like the Irish. :D It all ...

Re: UK visit non-eu family of Irish citizen

My experience of taking the free with a car is that they do very occasionally ask for UK/proof of nationality, for me it was one time in twenty. I have heard the Guards watch Dublin Port now mainly for catching cars for VRT charges but that comes with an ID check... Not cheap either, 300 quid or so...

Re: UK visit non-eu family of Irish citizen

If you fly to UK via Aer Lingus you don't need to show your passport at all, I do this all the time (Ryanair insist on a passport, it's their plane so....) I just use my PPSN card or Irish Driving licence (I'm British BTW). Probs not strictly legal of course for visa nationals but it's your call......

Re: UK visit non-eu family of Irish citizen

Sorry, I got the year wrong. The link is Immigration Act 1988 Section 7 . For talking to the IO in Wales, the relevant piece of law is Immigration (EEA) Regulation 2016 Article 11(4)(b) . People successfully use it at the juxtaposed British immigration controls in France. This is a fairly accurate ...

Re: UK visit non-eu family of Irish citizen

Thank you Richard W. Having gone through your post and another thread by ca.funke, it seems like this is still a grey area. I would have been more confident if my spouse had a 4 EUFAM. Unfortunately, She has a regular stamp 4 that complicates matters more. I guess the smartest thing to do is to appl...

Re: UK visit non-eu family of Irish citizen

Any help guys and gals? I am hearing mixed views on this. Some say I just need a marriage certificate for my wife and birth cert for my daughter if we're traveling together. UK visit non-eu family of Irish citizen

Hello guys. Somehow I think this is a ridiculous question but I just couldn't find a concrete answer so far. I am an Irish citizen living with family in Ireland. We plan to visit the UK. My wife is on the normal Stamp 4 (not eufam). My four year old is also non-eu at present. Do I need to get visas ...

Just to update, got a response from UKVI a month after lodging my complaint. They emailed their letter as an attachment.

They have assured me that my records have been updated and that they are satisfied I left the UK before expiry of my visa.

Finally. Thanks again for the help vinny.
