Hi all, A quick note to say "hello!" and give you the link to my FOI request related to this thread. Re: No EHIC Card

At the time (years 2010 and 2011) I did pay French social security even though I was a student in the UK - they would NOT have issued the letters I mentioned otherwise. So, in the best traditions of ImmigrationBoards , you have answered your own question and progressed to the next level. Yes howeve...

Re: New policy regarding passport names for dual nationals.

In the end, and after like 10 calls to HMPO, an interview appointment letter was sent. However, I received two conflicting information from HMPO: First one told me that my passport might be issued in my previous name and I might be asked during the interview to fill a new form in my old name (really...

Re: New policy regarding passport names for dual nationals.

I received my first UK passport yesterday in my assumed name which is different from the name in my other passport. It took HMPO only 16 days in total to issue the passport, and I wasn't quizzed about the name change at the interview at all. Here's how I went about it: - I sent a one-page explanati...

Register to Vote for GE on 8 June

Hello

The Register to Vote deadline is 22 May. My citizenship ceremony will probably be a week before that date. Will I have time to register to vote? What would be the quickest way, online or at the town hall directly?

Any advice would help!

Thank you

Acceptable Proof for Name Change

What are the acceptable proof that our country of origin restricts or does not allow name changes? Are there alternatives to providing a letter from the Embassy?

Re: August 2016 Policy re Name Changes for Dual Citizens

Persuade them to issue a letter. Refuse to leave until they do. I have had to do this; it can be done. I have already been and nothing at all could be done. Can I get the official government pages from my home country printed and then translated? Would that help? Also I have signed a deed more than...

The Embassy people here in London are a pain and won't help provide any kind of letters  What shall I do?

August 2016 Policy re Name Changes for Dual Citizens

Has anybody received their passport after the name change policy update dated August 2016? I am planning to do the following, could you advise whether this would work: 1) Apply for Citizenship in my EU passport name 2) Apply for my First passport in my *NEW* name, providing the following: Deed poll ...

Re: Passport refused - uncancelled passport in maiden name

Can anybody provide any advice on what should be done after the new regulations has come in?

Shall I apply for naturalisation using my old name and for passport I could use my new name if I provide my deed poll + proof of address and employment in my new name, is that correct?

Re: Deed Poll & Joint Citizenship and Passport Service

Just wondering whether CR001 solution would definitely work? Would applying for my 1st passport in my old name and then sending a deed poll an reapply for a passport in my new name be 100% possible? If that is the case it would be less complicated than providing additional evidence as per the new re...

Would that definitely work? Surely they will have a record of my foreign passport name somewhere?

Re: New policy regarding passport names for dual nationals.

Is a letter signed by the embassy mandatory? This sounds like a pain, and my 'country of origin' country isn't very helpful. Could I apply with my deed + certified translation of an extract of the relevant regulations from my country of origin official government website?

Deed Poll & Joint Citizenship and Passport Service

I changed my name via Deed Poll almost 5 years ago in the UK. My country of origin does not allow name changes, unless very specific cases. I won't be able to get a document from the embassy here, they're not good at all. I am going to apply to naturalisation and first passport at the same time (Joi...

Early Confirmation E-mail

Hi

I sent my EEA PR application two weeks ago and already received the confirmation e-mail from Home Office.

On average it seems to be one month rather than two weeks. Does this mean anything? Will I receive the decision quicker? Maybe October is less busy for HO??
