ILR to Citizenship; then back to ILR

Dear moderators, I have an ILR now and I can apply for British citizenship; if I am granted citizenship, is there any way that I could cancel the citizenship in the future and revert to ILR? This might be a strange question but my country does not allow dual citizenship; hence, I might have to cance...

Re: Schengen visa from Northern Ireland (Asian citizen)

Thank you meself2; this is super helpful. Will look into those options. Probably saves some of my family members a trip as some of us have applied and got schengen visa within the past 59 months.

Re: Schengen visa from Northern Ireland (Asian citizen)

According to Wikipedia, there's a Polish consulate in NI, but you still have to go to London if you want to get a tourist visa. What prevents you from going to Great Britain Thank you for your helpful suggestion. Seems like a trip to Grt Britain is in order. I wanted to avoid a trip purely to bring...

Schengen visa from Northern Ireland (Asian citizen)

Dear all, happy new year 2023! I am a non-UK (Asian) citizen living in Northern Ireland with ILR and want to get a Schengen visa. Is there any way I could apply for a Schengen visa without going to London or Edinburgh or Manchester or Glasgow etc? I am planning a holiday and do not care where it is ...

Is it possible to pay just £500 for priority service for whole family?

Dear all, I am just wondering about this in case someone wants to try this or someone has already tried something similar. I know that if a family of 4 (main + 3 dependents) apply for ILR (Set-O) together and want priority service, they have to pay 500x4 = £2000 for 5-day priority service. In an eff...

Re: Travel after online application

Apologies to mods in advance for poking my nose here, but reading the law posted by Zimba above, the interprretation is slightly different from my layman perspective. The 34K requires two conditions to be met: 1) documents to be returned to the applicant pending decision, AND 2) applicant travelling...

Re: Tier 2 new employer: paid leave with old employer

Thanks Frontier Mole for your inputs. However, I would be grateful if you could refer to the clause or point in the rules/regulations/guidance that says it is a breach of existing regulation. In the existing Policy Guidance, I could not find anything that suggests it would be a breach to continue wo...

Re: Tier 2 new employer: paid leave with old employer

UPDATE: I had presented my situation to my new Tier2 Sponsor asking for advice. They have consulted with their account manager at Home Office and have confirmed that it is ok for me to be on paid leave with my existing employer while I start work with my new Tier2 Sponsor. I hope this information ca...

Re: Tier 2 (Change of Employment) Joining date (Urgent Help)

Thanks Cr001 again for quick response; my concern is closely related to the OP's concern. And the OP has been advised to '...stop working for current employer immediately...'. Considering the discussions we have had, and considering the provisions of UKVI, the OP could probably stay on paid leave wi...

Re: Tier 2 (Change of Employment) Joining date (Urgent Help)

CR001, can you pls provide some more information on how they are two different things. Because I could not find a separate application page for Tier 2 secondary employment. For all intents and purpose, secondary employment seems to be an application for another full time job or change in employment...

Re: Tier 2 (Change of Employment) Joining date (Urgent Help)

It depends on which start date the new employer has put on the CoS. If the start date on the CoS is May then you can continue to work for the current employer until the day before the start date on the CoS, regardless when the new visa starts. If the start date on the CoS is 2nd April 2019, then yo...
