Re: How to an adult over 18 can become British citizen?

Was either of their parents a British citizen before their birth? If no, had the EEA parent (or either one of the EEA parents if both parents were EEA citizens) completed five continuous years of exercising treaty rights in the UK before the birth of your friend and crucially, do they have proof of...

Re: How to an adult over 18 can become British citizen?

I have read online that he should become a British citizen automatically. Why would he? Can you specify what exactly you read? Unless one of his parents was British before he was born (and could pass on the nationality), he won't just be British (not counting CUKC/etc due to his age). Also that's a...

Proof of living in the UK for 5 years

Hi All I am wondering what should I use as proof of following: "Proof of living in the UK for 5 years if applying in your own right or 3years if applying as the spouse of a British Citizen." I am applying in my own right. When I applied for ILR, I had a letter from my then employer to confirm my abs...

UKVCAS appointment

Hi All

I am in the stage to book UKVCAS appointment to submit documents for Naturalisation. I have a planned a holiday abroad in 2weeks time. If I go to appointment would they take away and hold my non-UK passport or BRP?
If they do, I rather book the appointment after my holiday.

Thanks

Can I put a Police Officer as referee for BC?

Hi

My ex colleague is now a police officer. I guess police officers are not considered to be employed by Home Office. Hence I can put his name.

Am I right?

Thanks

Non-UK Passport expiry date when applying for BC

Hi All
I am about to finish my application form for BC via naturalisation. My non-UK passport is only valid for 2months after submission of application. Should I renew my passport first and update the form before submission?

Thank you in advance

Re: British Citizenship Eligibility

You and your wife will have to wait for 1 year on ILR before applying for Naturalisation as per Section 6(1) BNA 1981 and you both can apply earliest in Dec 2021. (You are not married to a British Citizen and vice versa for your wife) For your UK born child, I am assuming what you did was to regist...

Employee Visa Fee Reimbursement

Hello Everyone, I am not sure if this is right place to ask this question. My employer is willing to reimburse my visa fees. This time it is for my ILR which was successful. Is it something they can claim as an expenses for the company? (I guess there is not VAT there) Or a taxable income for me? Th...

Re: BC for UK born child with limited UK visa

The UK born son’s overstay will have no impact on his entitlement to be registered as BC. Obviously, he will not be able to travel till then plus the free NHS care maybe impacted till then. Thank you very much. Finally I understand it. Is that mean I can apply for BC even after his current visa exp...

Re: BC for UK born child with limited UK visa

A UK born child doesn't need a valid visa to be able to register as British. They have an entitlement to register once either parent is granted ilr. There is no issue. Edit : topics merged. You were already advised of this in September when you asked with links provided by vinny!. Many Thanks. Yes,...

BC for UK born child with limited UK visa

Hi All My wife and I are just got our ILR and our UK born son has become eligible for BC. I didn’t include him as my dependent in ILR application so his current dependent visa will expire on 20 Dec 2020. ( just like mine before ILR) If I apply on his behalf for BC, it will take longer than end of hi...

Hi All
Is the freedom of movement of EU nationals and their family members in EEA still in place? Or has it been replaced with something similar?
