Re: IHS fee or not??

I tried to contact them via the email they provide but nothing. I have no idea why they have asked for my daughter but not my son. Surely it would be one or the other.

Guess I'll just pay and see if the ECO will refund it during the process of the application....

IHS fee or not??

I sent my settlement application away for my wife and two kids last week and have already heard back from them for one of my kids. They are asking for me to pay the IHS surcharge, but I dont understand why. They are both under 16 and therefore should be exempt should they not? And why only ask for ...

Getting accomodation a nightmare

I'm in the process of applying for a settlement visa for wife and two kids. I have a job offer in the UK but I'm having a hard time securing accomodation so i can add it to their application. It's extremely hard, almost impossible, to get a 3+ month rental online from another country. I'm thinking ...

Re: Unable to contact UKVI Via email?

I can honestly say that I have used these people a few times and found them extremely useless. They are beyond terrible. They have never answered my question and just send me links to their own website (half of which are broken and/or non-relevant). I actually think they may not even be humans, but ...

Re: Combining income and cash savings

The biggest problem for me is accommodation now. It's very hard to get tenancy from offshore. I don't have family and/or friends anywhere near where the job is either.

I know hotels are unacceptable (too expensive anyway) but what about AirBnB?

Re: Combining income and cash savings

If it wasn't so serious, it would be almost like a monty python sketch. Their written guidance is better but still vague and unclear in places, some of it just seems open to interpretation to me.

Re: Combining income and cash savings

Thanks. It seems though that the job offer of 25300 is sufficient even if it is for only ten months. At least that's what a few people have told me (UK immigration were no help at all) I do find it somewhat punitive that the very reason so many people probably fail to meet the savings target is ...

Combining income and cash savings

I'm overseas and want to return to the UK with my wife and two children, none are UK citizens or qualify for it. It seems i need an income of 24,800 pounds to get them to qualify. I have a job offer of 25,300 but it's only for 10 months so i think that works out to 20,000 for the year. So i need to ...

Seperate application for kids?

For the visa online (visa4uk), do I need to make a separate application for my wife and two kids? Or do I do just one for my wife and they also do the kids as part of that application (they do ask for their passport details in that application). The difference in cost is significant obviously.

Requirements for job offer

Hi everyone I was lucky enough to receive a job offer for 25000 (pro rata) pounds from a reputable tertiary institution for a fixed term of 9 months. I guess my question is, does this qualify me under the financial obligations for my wife and two kids? As far as I can see, I needed 24000 so it is ...

Re: Confused - which visa for under 18 kids?

Hi again Sorry to bump up the thread but i have another question. After reading through the pdf,i think perhaps doing a combined financial application (rather than just pure savings) would be less of a bother. But there's one thing I'm not clear on. Where it says you can use part of your income to ...

Re: Confused - which visa for under 18 kids?

Thanks everyone for your answers. It is greatly appreciated.

Re: the financial side of things. I have printed out some gigantic 67 page pdf to go through it to make sure i get it correct. From what i can gather, they don't consider assets such as a house which is disappointing but understandable.

Re: Confused - which visa for under 18 kids?

Hi I got the fees from their website where it says... Settlement £956 £1,195 Settlement - other dependant relative £2,141 £2,676 Thought kids would come under "other"?? I will meet the financial requirements by option 2. I believe you need 62,000 pounds? With the significant weakening of the pound ag ...

Re: Confused - which visa for under 18 kids?

Thank you for your help. The financial thing i can probably get by, although it baffles me why the fees for the children are so much higher than the wife. Looks to be about 7k pounds all up...ouch.

Re: Confused - which visa for under 18 kids?

Thank you Vinny. I take it the children cannot get indefinite leave to enter though, because only one of their parents is British citizen. So as you said, the settlement visa and then citizenship application is best for them?
Thanks

Confused - which visa for under 18 kids?

Hi I live in NZ with my family. I am a British Citizen by Descent via my mother. My wife and two kids are New Zealand citizens. Application for the wife seems obvious enough. Spouse visa via the settlement category, with renewal after 2.5 years. However I am confused about which visa to apply for ...
