10-year qualifying period starts from either:

when applicant arrived in the UK with a visa
when applicatnt was given permission to stay in the UK

Yes, his clock would reset to zero. if he came to UK 5 years ago then he will have to spend anothe 5 years to qualify for 10 year route.

can my 2nd daughter be classified as stateless? can she apply directly for uk passport as she has not held any nationality since birth in uk.
