Re: FBR-Apostille of certificates

Hi Sotyrockz04 - I can't answer your query from the perspective of FBR applications but for what its worth I would recommend getting the apostille stamp either way. I am a dual US / UK citizen (living in Ireland) and I ended up needing an apostille 5 years ago in relation to my civil partnership. Si...

Re: New naturalisation approvals

I know this feeling so well! I did the same thing & it was very tough. I had to teach myself not to second guess or worry about it (but that was easier said than done sometimes - especially close to times when ceremonies were announced!). Thing is, once I was in the Second Stage I knew that it was u...

Re: New naturalisation approvals

Yep - I received an approval letter last week! :) exactly 1 year, 1 month and 23 days after applying! I was expecting delays from the outset as I have some complexity in my case (already a dual national of UK & US so double the legwork for them) but have to say I was still surprised it took as long ...

Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

Folks, Anyone got an update recently on his application. It seems that they started sending some approvals. I have received the second stage letter for the second time last week today   What is the latest update you got from INIS? I received an email response on Friday (09/02/2018) sayi...

Re: Naturalisation question (Witnesses)

I applied on the same basis (January 2017) and remember wondering the same thing. In the end I went with 2 additional people (i.e. other than my partner) just to be on the safe side as I didn't want anything to hold up my application unnecessarily ...Although its been almost a year now so I reckon m...

Re: Does anyone else think there'll be another 2017 ceremony (after October!)?

if the approvals are stopped this week I hardly think even 3000 people will attend in oct17 because if you remember back in march there were many people confirming there approval from jan to march specially in march see the timeline post. i think they start posting approvals from mid aug and up til...

from inis website: In 2016 four ceremony days were held; one in Waterford for approximately 100 people and the other three in the Convention Centre Dublin, where over 7,800 people received their certificates of naturalisation in 8 ceremonies. http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/News%20and%20Events...

Does anyone else think there'll be another 2017 ceremony (after October!)?

Just wondering people's thoughts...all speculation of course! (I also added a poll for a bit of fun!) It seems like it could be possible because (from what I found on Google) it seems 1000+ less people will receive citizenship in 2017 than did in 2016 unless they have another ceremony. I know its we...

Re: Year prior to application

It means that when proving your residency, as well as proving you have the 4 years in the last 9 years, you must have lived in the state for the year prior to your application submission date. They don't want people applying who have moved away from Ireland basically. In terms of documents, that wil...

For anyone frustrated about application delays

Quick message to anyone experiencing a delay in their application and feeling a little low about it! It seems like things have gone very quiet from INIS as of late. On another topic someone mentioned hearing from INIS they that they had received a surge of applications in Mid March (Brexit / Article 50 time). I also read somewhere else that they stop sending out letters when prepping for a ceremony...

Gosh that really does seem like a very long time for you to have to wait! It's no wonder you're getting p'd off! Yeah I suppose back to my previous recommendation, if emailing them again I would try not just asking for a general status update because I think that just encourages them to reply with t...

Re: Spouse of an Irish Citizen Delay

Not sure if this will help at a; but on the advise of several people on this forum, I have started to be very very specific in how I phrase any emails about my application that I send to INIS. From your post its not really clear if you received letter of acknowledgement from INIS after you submitted...

Re: URGENT! Help getting passport back citizenship applicati

@morigami makes sense as mid-late March was when Article 50 triggered so I'm sure a lot of that backlog is because of higher volumes due to Brexit. I applied at the end of January and received my passport and acknowledgement letter back in 12 days (total) but that would have been before the rush. It...
