VBSI is good. Thanks!

If everyone do one thing for VBSI (which I have done), we will be in a much stronger position.

I take my hat off to all VBSI members.

I just get the feeling that some people have just not thought through the comments that they are actually making! Are people really saying that those previously granted HSMP are of such a low skill level that 90% no longer qualify? I for one think that HSMP people in the UK are highly intelligent, ...

It is clear that the government once again is cheating. This government is just like any other corrupted governments around the world: pretend to have a high moral ground on any issues unless they are caught! There is no difference between any governments, democratic or not! The difference only exis...

I don't know about your 1st question, but there should be translators available in the British Embassy in China. Based on my information (gained several years ago though) she can request a translator from the Embassy to help her in the Interview.

I failed to understand why u needed English requirement since your case is initial leave to remain only.

English requirement is only for hsmp extension applications only

Hope this helps
I think English is a must, no matter initial or extension applications for HSMP.

Transitional Arrangements?

Many people were talking about the "transitional arrangements" re HSMP extension.

Where is it exactly? Anyone using it?

Guys, Does this mean that if we operate through a limited company (not owned), should we provide proof to HO that we don't own the company in order to claim as employee? What do you mean by "operate through"? I think you ARE still an employee even if the company that employs you is in fact owned by...

meggles, I guess so too. But on the other hand, did you see this below (being part of Statement of Changes in Immigration Rules HC 130 )? This seems to suggest that an HSMP can hold a WP and can extend his/her HSMP as a WP holder? 135DA The requirements for an extension of stay as a highly skilled m...

This is an interesting subject, but the more you talk about it, the less useful it would be. The more people know how to use this approach to get their HSMP extended, the sooner this route will be blocked. Keep quite, do your research and just do it. We all know money talks, and systems are invented...

slugmeister,

Congratulations to you. Not many of us have good luck as such...

Two questions for you.

1) Will you be able to retain your WP as an HSMP?
2) If yes, will you be holding a WP visa or HSMP visa?

Statement of Changes in Immigration Rules HC 130 (11/12/2006)

Anybody studied this yet?

Seems that HSMP section was updated again, but couldn't find real difference.

Well, it seems to talk about "extending HSMP as a work permit holder...." if I am not mistaken.....

OK. I hope you are right and I am wrong. By the way, I used the figure of 1000 as an example to illustrate the issue of capacity. It is an example. I did say "if". Don't forget, now all the dependents need to take the exam too. Anyways, I sincerely hope you are right because I will need to take the ...

I understand your logic, but I don't think I missed the point. ;-) The overall capacity of the test centre is the issue. Yes, Person A can take test well in advance, but it is bad news for Person B who needs the test more urgently than Person A. After all, there are only limited tests and someone is...

MIssing point

I think you have missed one point.

Introducing this test means the number of people who can apply for ILR is limited by the capacity of the test.

So if the capacity of the test is 1000 per year throughout the UK, then the maximum number of granting of ILR is 1000.

Isn't that clever by HO?

Politics is all about perception, not reality. If we can't change that--and not just squeal "not fair!" "it hurts!" we will lose. Tobiashomer, I admire your inspiration and agree with you in principle, but I don't think we can live long enough to see the changes in politics, unless the genetic tech...

Friends,

We need to confirm the source of this ILR clock reseting thing.

Did Liam really say it? To whom? When and Where?

Is this something that can be confirmed?

How come it was leaked to the public domain?

What is the current official line on this issue?

It is tricky!

(3) are VBSI and the HSMP Yahoo group co-ordinating? If not, what is the difficulty? Can we be ready for a rally? I mean a car...
