I am currently in France as a tourist. I have been accepted in a M2 (pre-doctoral program). To obtain my VISA (carte de séjour) I am required to go back to Canada. In order to avoid this I'm considering marrying my long time girlfriend who is Italian but resides in Spain.

Hi, My girlfriend is living in Spain currently (working as a PhD student) but is planning on moving to France in January. However, it seems to me that marrying would not solve the problem if getting the "French-issued EEA Family Permit" would oblige me to go back to Canada. The question is then, can ...

Non EEA and EEA member marriage - study/reside in France

Hi there,

I need some help. I am a Canadian admitted into a Pre-doctoral programme in France. I do not have have my VISA yet since I had an interview to get in which required me to already be in France. My girlfriend is Italian. If we marry in Italy, do I have the right to study in France?
