Tier 2 Dependent Child over 18 and Studying Abroad

First, thank you for this forum. I have been able to get more useful answers here, than from some immigration solicitors My question: My son was granted leave to remain as my Tier 2 dependent before he was 18. Now he is over 18, and we need to send him to university abroad (in my country) because we...

In other words, does the maximum 180 days/12month rule apply to them? Do they have to declare all absences...

By merging my new questions into my old thread you are depriving me of the chance of getting an answer

Re: Giving Birth in the UK

I was with my husband as postgraduate students in the UK from 1991-1996. In 1992 I gave birth to a child in the UK. Now I am filling a Tier-2 partner application. What should I give as answer to have you ever received medical treatment in the UK?. The problem is that this has been 24 years ago and ...

Re: Tier-2 Child Almost 18

Accommodation must be adequate . Thanks vinny. I currently live in a studio flat (bedsit). Is that OK to receive my wife and son (17 years) until the term of my tenancy in June. Or, should I rent another flat (2 or more rooms). My landlord said he does not mind having my wife and son living with me...

Re: Tier-2 Child Almost 18

Thanks for the good advice. Our only concern is that he will have to stay in the UK until we are able to collect his BRP from the designated post office. He has to sit for his Baccalaureate (high school) exams on 15 May. Any idea how long the BRP takes to be released by the post office once his entr...

Tier-2 Child Almost 18

I am in the UK on Tier-2 visa. My wife and son are abroad (Syria). My son will turn 18 on 4 April. I want to apply for Tier-2 dependent visa for them very soon (before my son is 18). In the application form there is a question about the intended date of travel to the UK. Can we put that as June 2017...
