Re: Passport Application Discussion 2022

Hi all - just wanted to update you with my experience, which fortunately hasn't been as tortuous as some of yours... I've just received my new Irish passport (ExpressPost) - less than two weeks after my tracker status going from "Processing application - We have received your supporting documents. ...

Re: Passport Application Discussion 2022

Notarized documents if accepted by applicants outside Ireland then should be accepted within Ireland also. Otherwise, it is biased to give special treatment isnt it? Born citizens of Ireland can move to another country and not inform the State of this. Naturalised citizens have to inform the State ...

Re: Passport Application Discussion 2022

The people who I've seen post that they sent certified copies of their passports looked to be FBRs or people living in other countries. It appears that if you are applying from another country, you aren't requested to send your other passport unless it is being sent as a form of ID. As a naturalize...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

@fuzzbizz I see from the "2019 Citizenship Applications Timelines Only" thread that you've included "Garda e-vetting form: 17/05/2021" on your timeline. Is this a form you received? I was under the impression that this is a new step that would only apply to more recent applications. Would be very in...

Re: Citizenship Applications - Content of Second Letter

Hi all, Received a "second" letter today (dated 19/11/2020, which was crossed out and hand-dated 5/1/2021), with what I thought was a strange request - a copy of my spouse's passport. Then realised that I hadn't included a copy with my original application based on marriage to an Irish citizen submi...

Re: Citizenship Applications - Content of Second Letter

Hi Dub23, I see you've received your second/second-stage letter. Would you mind letting us know what it said - did it specifically say "second stage" of the process? Just interested as my (straightforward, based on marriage to an Irish citizen) application was submitted in March, and I haven't had a...

Thanks again for your helpful replies...

Is it necessary that my partner to be settled in the UK before I apply for the unmarried partner visa or would it be possible for me to apply for this visa before she departs for the UK? Would the same be the case if I applied for the EEA family permit?

Thanks very much for your reply!

My partner is a temporary resident in Australia, being sponsored by her work.

We would plan to have children in the UK or Ireland, but not in the short term.

Cheers

Unmarried Partner Visa - Australian Citizen

I am an Australian citizen and have been living in Australia with my Irish partner for the past three years. We intend to move to the UK in the next few months but are uncertain as to which type of visa I should apply for. We are aware of the existence of an Unmarried Partner Visa and know that I wo...
