I will rephrase my question: Will a travel which was done in past on expired passport(this has been done now) but valid visa affect naturalization process, when the UKBA look at the exit and entry dates on the passport, with exit date being on the expired passport and entry date on the new passport?...

Is travelling on expired passport with valid visa not considered illegal? The passport he had was of his home country.

didn't give me the option, after case worker came with the approval letter, she said you should have let me know earlier, is it my duty to ask or there, but in any case it will be sent to my home address - so, no worries

Had my appointment in PEO croydon approved - biometric on its way. I was in 45 minutes early and by my appointment time, i had payment taken, biometric number given and with a case worker. Total time taken was 2 hours, 45 minutes and i was on my way home 11:15 am. They didn't even ask about holidays...

This is a bit confusing, @akash08 mentioned business trip for unpaid leave out of the country, what should be the content of the letter, if they ask for any letter for that business trip.

Here is my initial timeline.
visa start date 3 jan 2008,
entry in uk 30 jan 2008,
left uk 2 march 2008, unpaid leave.
came back 15 april 2008, started work here - employed since then to now.
