Thanks everyone for your input. I'll go through with the application for my relatives and report back with any developments.

Re: Standard Visitor Visa (£115 one) - multiple entry?

Thanks for your prompt response. Just as a follow-up to your answer (b): so it would technically be acceptable on the visa application to say then "a few months" but this would be comprised of multiple 2 week trips or so within the 6 month period? I think it'll likely be a 2 week trip, followed by a...

Standard Visitor Visa (£115 one) - multiple entry?

Hi, Apologies if this has already been asked but I have relatives who want to visit the UK, and will be applying for a Standard Visitor Visa. They'll likely only visit for a couple of weeks at a time, 2 or 3 times over the course of this year. From 2025 onwards they won't be visiting with a UK visa....

Getting an ITIN in the UK as a UK citizen

Hi, I'm trying to obtain an ITIN from the IRS whilst being based in the UK (UK citizen). The last related thread posted on this forum is from 2015 and is now locked. Two main questions: 1) How does one obtain a Certified Copy of a UK Passport from HMPO? The IRS requests a 'Certified Copy by the Issu...

Standard Visitor Visa UK - Some questions

Hi, I've been trying to find some clarity regarding the Standard Visitor Visa for tourism purposes but still haven't been able to answer my questions. I was hoping someone here could help, specifically by clarifying the following please: 1a) For the 6-month version of the visa (GBP 100): What determ...

Re: Home Office erroneously claiming entering UK without Leave

It is quite simple, unless there is more to what you described above. I wouldn't hire any Solicitor for this simple task (if you are clean). How about entry and exit stamps on her passport? She can prove she was in US until 2014 with number of documents or confirmation from US and for her visits co...

Home Office erroneously claiming entering UK without Leave

Hi All, My spouse has applied for her naturalisation ~4 months ago and just received an e-mail from the Home Office today saying erroneously "it would appear she has failed the good character requirement", and they need further info. Specifically: You answered the question – When did you first arriv...

Naturalisation AN - Employment change of conditions?

Hi All I have question regarding employment details, specifically section 1.45 to 1.50 (What is your occupation / name of employer / address of employer / etc.) I have an NCS / JCAP appointment in a week - what happens if after submitting the application I resign from my current job and am no longer...

Re: Employment needed for citizenship/passport?

Hi Thanks for the prompt response! I understand it's not mandatory, but do you think it affects the chances of being granted citizenship in anyway? i.e. maybe the home office will wonder why the applicant is unemployed, etc.? Are there cases of people being turned down because of it? Any input appre...

Employment needed for citizenship/passport?

Hi everyone I have a question regarding naturalisation. I've had ILR for 11 months now, off a 5 year Tier 2 visa route. When submitting the application to become British (I plan on doing joint citizenship and passport though I assume this has no bearing on my question), will being unemployed affect ...

Re: Citizenship for Spouse without ILR?

Hi All Wasn't sure where to post this but I think this sub-forum qualifies. I've been on ILR for the last 10 months or so through a Tier 2 visa, and will be eligible to apply for naturalisation shortly. Was planning on doing JCAP to get it out of the way relatively painlessly. 1. Can I still travel...

Re: PBS dependent visa extension on ILR holder

Why have you quoted the "Tier 2 (more than 3 years)" prices? I thought it would be "Up to 3 years" My spouse had her first partner visa issued (as a page on her passport) on the 1/11/13 though she didn't arrive to the UK until 12/01/2014. Not sure if the count begins since issuance or arrival, but a...

Re: PBS dependent visa extension on ILR holder

Thought there was some other fee for extension, not just the Tier 2 issuance. If that's the case then it makes sense.

The other questions are still somewhat strange though?

Re: PBS dependent visa extension on ILR holder

So the website you linked just shows the differing tiers of service and times (i.e. standard 10 weeks, priority 10 days, etc) but doesn't show costs and I can't seem to find this anywhere. I've decided to kick start the application online to see if I can find these costs out (I won't be submitting u...

Re: PBS dependent visa extension on ILR holder

Many thanks for such a quick response. Just wanted to follow up on #2. Could you please define 'any time but closer to expiry date' - what would constitute 'close' to expiry date? if there is no official threshold (i.e 28 days before expiry) I'd like to do it sooner to interfere with our travel plan...

PBS dependent visa extension on ILR holder

Hi All I've gone through the different posts in the forum but have found somewhat outdated info and not quite what I'm looking for. I was hoping someone might be able to help me with some questions. I'm currently on ILR having been on a Tier 2 for 5 years. My spouse came to the UK 3 years ago under ...
