Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

I know of somebody that has been emailing them for weeks asking them to return his passport. He then gets a letter in the post asking him to confirm his postal address for return of passport. Just think about the logic of that for a second.................have never expierienced such incompetance.

Re: Holiday visa /covid /Thai girlfriend

Problem with getting married in Thailand is that she then needs to locally apply for a D Spouse of Irish National Visa from the Irish embassy which is then sent to Dublin and takes about 6 months for a decision so she's stuck in Thailand whilst waiting. You could get married here and then apply for ...

Re: I hope we can be together soon

Easiest way is to get married in Cambodia and then apply for a D Visa from the Irish embassy in Vietnam. Once granted this will entitle your partner to live and work in Ireland on a stamp 4 immigration permission. After a number of years residency she would be entitled to apply for Irish Citizenship...

Re: Visa for Thai girlfriend

No can't be posted, although if she has friend/family member in Bangkok they could take it on her behalf. Wouldn't include tattoo :) Would include copies of any bank/money transfers. Full detailed account of how you's met etc and why she will return to Thailand. In my experience go for overkill incl...

Re: Visa for Thai girlfriend

You'll need to supply as much information as possible to: a) prove relationship is genuine, so entry/exit stamps of your passport. Photo's together, skype/facebook records, invoices for hotels/f...

Re: I don't meet the €40,000 income criterion for D visa

Ok understand. I think their main concern is that your wife won't become a burden on the irish state i.e. require housing/benefits etc. Maybe if you had a firm offer of a job and undertakings of financial support from family back home it may help. I know there is discretion mentioned in the document...

Re: I don't meet the €40,000 income criterion for D visa

Are you legally married in Thailand. I.e. Did you register the marraige at the Amphur and get a marriage certificate? The 40k earnings over 3 years don't have to be earnings in Ireland, if you were working cash in hand i don't think this would bother inis too much as long as you can show the income ...
