Re: BC for children born before PR and after PR

If the child born before you acquired PR was born in the UK, then s/he can be registered using Form MN1 . Make sure to read the guide, as that will likely answer most of your questions about filling in the form (or at least help you ask good questions when you have them). The payment slip for the ap...

Re: Child born in Egypt to British father

Also you said the child may automatically be Pakistani...i am hoping he/she can be British first, if the child wants the Pakistani nationality when grown up then thats his/her choice. Or are you saying its something i would be required to do? I think JAJ was saying that your child may be a citizen ...

Re: Travel after submitting Form AN - can I do biometrics in advance?

You might luck out and get the biometrics letter right before you leave for your holiday, but it's likely that it will come while you're away. You have 15 working days from the date of the letter, which means that even in the unlikely event the letter is issued today, you'll still have time to submi...

Re: Child born in Egypt to British father

No problem, Wasim. It's very interesting helping you with this—I've learned a lot about registration and citizenship by descent (hence all the links). Page 30 of the MN1 Guide says, Child’s birth certificate showing the parents’ names Parents’ marriage certificate (if the father is a British citizen...

Re: Temporary vs Permanent Address during BC application process

Have you already submitted your biometrics (it looks like you applied in May, so I assume the answer is yes)? Can your parents be trusted to let you know if you have any post from the Home Office (for instance, a decision letter, or a letter asking for further information)? Is it feasible for you to...

Re: Biometrics Submitted Question

It's a standard part of all Home Office application, it seems. I assume there is some cross-checking between what you submit and what they have on file from your PR/ILR application in order to verify the identity of the person applying.

I read it as his wife wants to give birth in Egypt, where she has established relationships with the doctors. WasimAslam , because you are British by descent, your child will not automatically be a British citizen if s/he is born in Egypt, unless you're in the Crown Service. However, under certain c...

I understand the desire to know how long you will have to wait for a decision, but the truth is there is no way anyone can answer that question. Re: Applying new born baby UK passport with Dads expired Indian passport(valid ILR)

Given the Passport Office's own requirement that you send in the passport you had a the time of your daughter's birth (plus the other pieces of evidence like your BRP and her birth certificate), I'd say they'd be more likely to reject it if you renewed your passport and sent that in. However, no one...

Re: British Citizenship with birth name

Based on the experiences at least one other person has had, you might be told to get your Italian passport changed so that it also says A.B.K. before the HMPO will issue you a passport. They don't like people have different names on different passports, even if the names are very similar.
