Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Thanks so much for your reply Zazu777. Very kind of you to share your experience. And good luck to you too! To my knowledge, the closest place that does biometrics here in Colorado is the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) centre in Denver and, unfortunately, you cannot make...

FWIW, delivery of my documents (Phoenix to HMPO in Durham) via USPS Priority International took 7 days. Transit times seem to be improving. Cost was $39.70 USD. Looked at other options but they were around twice as much, or more. Here is my last timeline: https://www.immigrationboards.com/british-c...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

When applying for the passport, did you guys send your current home country passport? Yes. The application tells you to. I did mine a month or so ago, and the total time was 25 days, and by far the longest part of that was my documents reaching them. I went with the cheapest tracked method of USPS ...

Congratulations!! I don't know what the passport times look like right now, but it went extremely quickly for me. I think about 3 weeks total.
Thanks!

That time frame is encouraging, too!

Invitation for Virtual Ceremony: 30/06/2021 - Received by POST (not email) dated 22/06/2021 Date of ceremony: TBA Now, you just need the date. Those instructions sound more complicated than it is. I guess it's because you're doing this from home. My ceremony was very informal - only 2 of us but we ...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

I do see that they have a contact form on the website for the consulate in Atlanta so I have just filled that in today to see if I can get any updates. They say they will respond in 1-3 days. If that doesn't work I might try the general email route. Well, I heard back within a few hours but I think...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

I'm not sure if you've tried this, but have you contacted the consulate where your ceremony will be held? Usually it's the closest consulate to you. I needed to switch consulates, as my preference was to complete my ceremony in my hometown, which I don't live anywhere near currently. I emailed them...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

My parents were so English and we lived there for a long time but it does feel odd we have to go through all this paperwork and time so we can "register" as Brits. They need to change the law so it shouldn't matter which parent was born in UK - ie if Dad had been born there I wouldn't have to do it...
