Re: Naturalisation due: stuck with 90d/12mo requirement

Q1: Am I right in understanding and therefore calculating that I can only apply for Naturalisation on 17th October 2022 at the earliest? As going back over 12 months from 17/10/22-17/10/2021 , I would have only been out of the UK for 90 days i.e. between 17/10/2021-14/01/2022 and not more, since ge...

Re: Naturalisation due: stuck with 90d/12mo requirement

There is no "missing trick". The rules are clear. A wedding is not an exceptional reason to be absent for 7 months Not long to go to October anyway. You don't need citizenship to sponsor your wife, you can sponsor her with ilr. It is the same visa regardless of citizenship or ilr. I see she has a n...

Naturalisation due: stuck with 90d/12mo requirement

Hi all, I will keep it to the point. I gained ILR on 25th March 2021 (10 year long residence route). Therefore, I am eligible to apply for Naturalisation by 25th March 2022 , provided I wasn't out > 90 days in those 12 months. However, I was - I was in India from 26th May 2022 - 14th Jan 2022 (233 d...

Spouse visa with dented immigration history: SAR

Hi people, Question : 1. Can SAR (subject to access request) to UKVI be made from abroad (India)? 2. Can it be made for your wife (in India) by you (in UK)? Motive to question : When filling in the SAR form online, there has to be provided a UK living address for the applicant, therefore I figured t...

Held an ILR for 12 months or lived in UK for 12m with it?

Hi, I have looked at FAQs and other topics but haven't found an answer so here's my question: I have held ILR since March 2021, but I travelled to India, in May 2021-Jan 2022. I was under an impression that I must have held ILR for 12 months as well as been in the UK for 12 months from when ILR was ...

Re: IHS Refund : Change of Employer

Yes in the same situation, got an email saying all my fees including IHS will be refunded for an earlier application (T4) as I applied for ILR (SET LR) - the email was sent in November 2020. No refund has been received since, anyone got a number or contact line? I tried generic line and they have no...

Return to UK in last 6 months of valid visa

Hi, I hope this is the right place for this generic question. If a current spouse visa expires in August 2021 and I travel to India from Feb-April, can I still return to UK with less than 6 months of valid visa. Passport isn't expiring anytime soon. So that's not an issue, BUT I remember reading som...

SET (LR) application with previous passport lost

Hi team, I am currently in the process of applying for SET (LR). I entered the UK on 21st September 2010 and have renewed and remained on Tier 4 student since then. Doing my BSc to PhD. The passport I entered the UK and had first two Tier 4 leaves granted with, was lost in 2016. I got a replacement ...

Re: ILR set (LR): Re-apply within 28 days of previous leave, clarification.

You're looking at the wrong guidance. This is the link to the correct one for Set (LR): https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/841917/long-residence-v16.0ext.pdf You're fine, the application within 28 days of leaving doesn't apply if you left...

ILR set (LR): Re-apply within 28 days of previous leave, clarification.

Hi team, I have spent ten years in the UK, all of it on Tier 4, doing BSc to PhD in those years. I am applying for SET(LR) independently due to lack of funds immigration firms are quoting, I needed some help here interpreting the following paragraph from the guidance doc and if it affects my case. E...

Re: Tier 4 in country visa extension NO confirmation from UKVI

Strange, my experience was completely the opposite. Got the application completed with the international office at the University. Paid everything for a standard service and submitted the application with biometrics on the 23/12/2019. Though it was peak xmas time still I got a receipt of applicatio...

Re: Bank statement for Tier 4 PhD Extension

I am in the same boat as you. Applying for Tier 4 extension on 1st April. University grants 3 months (onto my current course end date i.e. 31 March 2020) so CAS will have new end date of 30th June 2018. I need to show £1015 (outside London) for 3 months stated on CAS. So £3045 in total for 28 days.S...

8 year cap; BSc (UG), PGDip (PG) and PhD (PGR)

Hi everyone, I need some advise on extending my current Tier 4 leave which was granted in June 2015 for an PhD via MPhil course. My question will be divided in two parts as follows: 1) Idid BSc (2010-2013), opted for MSc but didn't get enough grades to be awared an MSc so got PGDip instead (2013-Jan...

No credibility interview offered, decision made, PP awaited!

Hi My gf applied for UK T$ Student visa on 1st May 2017 in Amsterdam via TLS contact. She received the acknowledgement and 'received by UKVI' email the very next day i.e. 2nd May 2017. However, she hadn't heard anything until last week. So we called UKVI contact centre, and found out that the decisi...

Tier 1 application #food #200k #advice

Hi all, It is my first post after having followed the forum for years. I hope I am doing this right. I am a U.K. citizen (via long stay route) since 6 months now. My parents live in India. I have a market food stall and wish to expand the business into something like a cafe, takeaway or a restaurant...
