It sounds like this is a big grey area?

@Directive - definition of secondment for this purpose would be that my employer may want to relocate me to another EU member state. For this they would issue relevant documentation (i.e. letter stating the business need, I have been chosen, etc), and I would still remain on my existing contract (i....

Secondment & Surinder Singh

Hello, Just wanted to check if anyone has had any experience using the Surinder Singh route for a spouse of dependent while being seconded to another EU country. I know the "ideal" scenario is having a local job, but can I still be considered as exercising my treaty rights if I'm being seconded? Any...

Does anyone have an idea as to how long it takes to get a French residence card? Thats the carte de séjour, right? I'm different read outs on surfing the web - some as quickly as 3 months, some as much as 9. Also, I read that cartes de séjour is issued from anywhere from 1 year to 5. Does getting on...

I get the feeling this something aimed at health-tourists from EEA countries, students, etc. vs. economic migrants (Tier 1,2)

Is that possible?

Depends on your council. I'm part of Tower Hamlets, and my approval letter said call the council. I called the council, and they asked me to wait till I got a letter from the council assigning me a date (which arrived the next day). A side note - the date they allocated was too far away, so I opted ...

At the recent debate in June, someone very appropriately called this a "ban masquerading as a rule," and thats spot on.

I will be attending the protest on Jul 9.

Kahn, arifzx - are you guys going to come to the protest as well?

19eggs - fair rules will be a welcome change vs the policy that exists now. The current policy reeks of haste and no consideration to the real life scenarios.

Thank you for taking the time on this!

Thanks doc_S! We're getting good responses so far. I'm hoping the momentum keeps up so we have a good sample size.

I'd encourage others to post here when they have completed the survey, so keep the buzz on this going.

Thanks again for everyone's help!

All - politicians love soundbytes and statistics. In presenting our cases to policymakers, we need some numbers to help quantify the impact and that these unfair regulations have, as well as sentiment of the general population. The following is a simple survey that will gather data to help the fight...

Do you really need to travel every 6 weeks? Really? Pretty much a trip a month, sometimes two. It certainly made documenting my travel over the last 5 / 3 years for the ILR / Nat applications quite a task. Jambo, Ayyubi72 thanks for the estimates - thats much more reassuring to know that its not th...
