Re: UKVI call charge

I called UKVI a few days ago, and was charged £4.11 for the two-and-a-half minutes I was talking to an advisor; time spent in the queue did not count.

Re: Spouse visa: Bank/employment documents

So my wife and I submitted an application for a spouse visa on Monday (the 21st), but the letter verifying my employment as the sponsor only came through today, and is dated the 23rd. Do I need to write a cover letter explaining that there was a delay in producing the verification letter? Also, I n...

Re: Applying from Pakistan: How to submit supporting documents?

I do mean the spouse visa route, so that's good news that the documents can be sent from the UK.

One query: I happen to live not a terrible distance away from Sheffield, but I presume the documents must be posted to the Sheffield office and can't be hand-delivered?

Applying from Pakistan: How to submit supporting documents?

My wife is soon hoping to submit an application to join me in the UK on a spouse visa, but I'm having difficulty working out how the submission of supporting documents works. In a sticky on this board, it is stated: ...the British Embassy uses its service provider, Gerry’s FedEx for applicants to lo...

Refused to enter another country: chances of impacting FLR(M)?

So my wife and I were recently denied entry to the Seychelles, on the grounds that we had an apartment rented out for an extended period instead of a hotel booking for the duration of our stay. I understand that this will need to be declared when my wife applies for a spouse visa under FLR(M), but i...

Re: Netherland visa for British Spouse

No proof was provided. There were three pages in the notice of refusal: - Notification form, with "Refused" and "Insufficient justification for the purpose and circumstances" checked (in Dutch); - Refusal wording (in English); - Refusal wording and address to which to submit an appeal (in Dutch). As...

Re: Directive 2004/38/EC thread

Ok, a new question. I can't see that this has been answered recently, so here goes: I'm in the process of moving from the UK to the Netherlands (I have an apartment in Rotterdam, and have set up a consultancy BV), and my wife (from the visa-required country of Pakistan) applied for a visa under 2004...

Re: Netherland visa for British Spouse

Update from my end: after 14 days (out of the initially projected 15), application has come back denied as suspected abuse of free movement. I expect everyone applying for a 2004/38 visa based on a spouse moving from the UK, is getting these denials.

Re: Netherland visa for British Spouse

I can't give you current timeframes, since I'm actually in the same boat: submission to VFS made on the 3rd, and my wife was advised that processing time would be 15 days. What I can do is provide timescales for the first time she applied: application was filed May 1, at which time she was advised t...

Re: 2004/38/EC appeal timeframes

It could take around 3 month to process your appeal. Mm, this is what I've been able to gather from whispers and rumours elsewhere, so I'm prepared for it to take a while. What there doesn't appear to be anywhere, is data: people who've been through the appeals process for a Schengen 2004/38 applic...

2004/38/EC appeal timeframes

There appears to be a dearth of information relating to how long it takes for rejected Schengen visa applications under 2004/38 to be appealed, so I'll kick things off: I'm a UK citizen moving to the Netherlands, and my wife is in Pakistan; she applied through VFS Global. Her application was rejecte...
