Re: UKVI confusing ILR holder details with visiting twin

Thank you for your advice Ticktack! I don't relish the idea of sitting in the cold in protest at HO so I think we will go with your suggestion to arm ourselves with plenty of paperwork when we leave the UK and expect issues at the border on return. Ironically, if my husband's brother hadn't come for...

UKVI confusing ILR holder details with visiting twin

Hello all, I have a very bizarre situation with UKVI (are they still called that?), I realise it's going to be extremely rare & potentially unheard of but would appreciate any advise anyone may be able to give! My husband has held ILR since 2022, has a BRP. His twin brother has a very similar name, ...

Re: ILR questions Set(M)

Many thanks for your confirmation Zimba (:
Hopefully his current company will not make things difficult when we ask for this next year!

Re: ILR questions Set(M)

Thanks for your reply Zimba (:
Can he get the letter now?
I think he needs it purely for confirmation that his online payslips are authentic so I'm thinking he will have to wait and get it within 28 days of application?

ILR questions Set(M)

Hello, my husband is looking at changing employers before his ILR application in Feb/March 2022. The new company is not technically UK based (almost all staff are remote & main head office is in US), but they have a registered office in the UK & will be paying him in £ through normal payroll, with t...

Re: WHICH VISA TYPE FIANCÉ VISA

That correct neither of us have been married So single even though unmarried partner wording is “Currently consider yourself in a relationship” we are obviously engaged and definitely consider ourselves in a relationship? Many Thanks When we applied for fiance visa we chose single. In this scenario...

Re: Spouse Visa Extension- Core Service Point Queries

I don't think they will accept a USB but you can take your original documents. However, if you haven't paid extra to have them scanned at the appointment, I doubt they would rescan them for you. If in doubt, just upload the documents under several categories - that's what I did to ensure they weren'...

Re: FLRm Missed You card from DX Delivery

Our decision letter arrived 1 week after the DX delivery of BRP. Decision letter was sent by recorded Royal Mail. We arranged to have DX redeliver to an office address which meant we could get it much quicker since we're always at work! If you've got a DX delivery then your application is most likel...

Re: Spouse Visa extension refusal

Interesting. Seems that even though you say you make over £18600K - because you mistakenly (?) selected that you could not prove it & therefore didn't input the details into the form (presumably?); they haven't bothered to check any of the financial documents that you sent as evidence & have just ta...

Re: FLR (M) processing time

Our visa was approved exactly 5 weeks after our biometrics appointment. BRP delivery was attempted 2 days later but as we don't work from home we had to have it redelivered to a work address which ended up taking 5 days due to a weekend. So received BRP 1 week after approval & 6 weeks after biometri...

Re: FLR m for spouse

Did you pay for document scanning at your appointment? If not - you should have scanned and uploaded the documents to the UKVCAS website yourselves before your biometrics appointment. The UKVCAS staff are not immigration advisors or HO staff - they only see what their screen tells them is "mandatory...

Re: UK Spousal Visa Documents

When we applied for the fiance visa we did an A4 sheet with a kind of relationship timeline, which just did like the date we met, started dating, first holiday, met family, moved in together, engaged etc - We referenced any relevant evidence like tenancy agreement, plane tickets, passport stamps etc...

Re: How to check IHS number that put it on online application

When we paid the IHS, I printed the screen and it actually says: What to do next Finish your visa application. We'll make sure your IHS reference number is included. If you're applying in person at a premium service centre, you'll need your IHS reference number when you attend your appointment. So I...

Re: Beginning Fiancé “out of UK” visa in the UK

I think there is a timeline thread you can try and compare to. You can compare to spouse visas, not just other fiance visas but it all depends on your personal situation and sometimes country you apply from. We though FLR(M) in country was max 8 weeks but were surprised at the appointment they said ...

Re: Spousal visa

Not a problem to hold the job for only 6 months. Many people return to the UK to get a job for 6 months to satisfy the financial requirement or like you, move jobs to get a suitable salary, so probably quite common that people apply immediately after completing their 6 months. As long as it is exact...

Re: FLR(M) Advice to speed up process

If you start the application form now, get as many documents ready as possible to apply literally the 1st of November online, I imagine you would be fine. Start scanning everything so you're ready to upload immediately and could theoretically get an appointment within a few days. We were able to get...

Re: Beginning Fiancé “out of UK” visa in the UK

Just wanted to let you know that I went back onto the UKVI website where we completed our application form and were able to download our checklist yesterday so that was about a week after we applied online (though I didn't check before that) - so if you keep checking, you may find as well that it be...

Re: Beginning Fiancé “out of UK” visa in the UK

We used the upload facility on the website, for applications within the UK you have to pay extra to have them scanned at the biometrics appointment. IDK if you have to pay extra outside the UK for this service, but personally I don't trust these people so we scanned and uploaded everything ourselves...

Re: Beginning Fiancé “out of UK” visa in the UK

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for this checklist - you should know which documents you need to send & it does state on the application form what documents you are expected to include. Many people already in the UK are applying for extensions and have the same issue with no checklist but have t...

Re: Category B FLR(M) Previous Employer letter/payslip authentication?

Not sure why my question has been tagged onto someone else’s post? Seagul - so you think it is not a requirement but they may ask for it? We don’t have the letter but are running out of time to apply - we don’t know if we can apply without it. Also, the payslips are pdf only - I don’t think they loo...

Category B FLR(M) Previous Employer letter/payslip authentication?

We are applying for FLR(M) with category B as my partner has been with his current employer only 5 months. So we are using an old employment to show 12 months income. We have an employer letter from current employer which also authenticates his PDF payslips. Is it needed to get a letter from the pre...

Re: Documents for FLR M

I think it's sensible for you not to trust your lawyer - you seem to be doing the right thing though, doing your own research and questioning anything that doesn't seem quite right. Hopefully you will continue to catch any of their glaring errors. Yes, I find those questions disconcerting too. I thi...

Re: Documents for FLR M

Those are literally the questions on the application form. We are just applying for our second FLR(M) (after fiance visa & 1st FLR(M)) and we are currently filling this application form. It has always been the case for FLR(M) that this visa covers several different situations so many people applying...

My husband took out a credit card in his name which we use just for fuel & pay off every month to increase his credit score. We also changed his phone contract to be in his name. We lived at home with my parents before buying our house so unfortunately didn't have any bills in either of our names an...

Re: Joint Mortgage

It's not a problem to be on a visa such as spouse or FLR(M) to get a joint mortgage. My husband & I bought a house in October. I would suggest using an independent mortgage adviser as they can look at the whole market and see which banks are most likely to offer you a good deal. We went direct to HS...
