Re: Certificate of Entitlement to the Right of Abode

I agree with you Vinny, but the problem comes in explaining this point to other people. Like banks, and NHS. Someone said to me 'Wow, you were lucky to find that loophole'. I tried to explain it wasn't a 'loophole', but I could see I wasn't getting anywhere. I showed the health centre the letter of ...

Re: Certificate of Entitlement to the Right of Abode and the NHS

I had the cert. of entitlement to RofA, which expired with my passport. Have renewed the passport (Cdn) and resubmitted an application for the certificate to be put in my new passport. All is well there. Last one took 10 weeks to process, so if timing is similar would hope to get my passport back by...

Re: Right of Abode (within UK) - 2017 Processing Times

Has anyone ever received a call from the HO telling them their appln. had been approved and their passport would be sent out in the next few days? A very polite young man called to say he was calling from the HO, and having seen the section on fraudulent calls I was instantly on alert! However, he j...

Whose responsibility for correct application?

Two and a half years ago my British born husband was transferred to work in the UK. As his Canadian wife I went online to see what I needed to do to come with him. I went through the online questions on the immigration site that asked what country I was citizen of and what was the status of my spous...

Are biometrics necessary for RofA? I haven't seen anything about that, and so far haven't had a request from Home Office to get them done.

Judging by some of these posts processing seems to be taking 2 1/2 to 3 months.

Re: Right of Abode (within UK) - 2017 Processing Times

I've got an answer to my own question.

I rec'd a letter of acknowledgement today, 2 weeks from the day they received my application. Payment was taken off my credit card.

Now nothing to do but wait!

Re: Right of Abode (within UK) - 2017 Processing Times

Did you all receive a letter/email saying your application had been received? I sent in my appln for RofA two weeks ago today and have heard nothing yet. I know it's been rec'd because I paid for the tracking and signature at their end, and can see it was rec'd by them June 26. Payment hasn't come o...
