Information from referee for first passport application?

Hello everyone, Apologies if this question has been asked in my past, but I’m trying to ascertain what information do I need from my referee for my first passport application? I intend to apply for my passport on the same day as naturalisation and have a very short time period between the day and wh...

Date of application

Hello everyone, I had a quick question with regards to the naturalisation application online. I complete one year of ILR on 20th August and am eligible to apply for naturalisation from that point onwards. When I apply using the online form, does it take the date of application to be the day the onli...

Have you already received your BRP card, could you please let us know when you receive it, I'm trying to find out times for me to receive it as well. I also applied using the Premium service. Thanks Hi Paul, I had applied for ILR at 8am on 20/08, with the application under consideration at 8:15am, ...

Re: Resigning on same day as ILR approval letter (but without BRP card)

I have seen a FOI request to the home office for clarification on the start date of ILR (for instance for naturalisation purposes), whether it will be the date you were approved or the date on the BRP. The Home office's reply was it is the date it was granted so the approval date . More still the a...

Resigning on same day as ILR approval letter (but without BRP card)

Hi everyone, I had a question that I wanted to request your assistance with. I had been in the country on a Tier 2 (General) visa for the last 5 years and had my ILR Premium appointment yesterday, where I was given the generic approval letter and told to wait for my BRP card. I resigned from my curr...

Re: SET (M) filling online form , booking PSC appointment, Which date is considered Date of Application ?

Hi Joshdan, Thanks for your reply but it is the way you think or your interpretation that when applying online Date of application is the date of PSC appointment day but what about immigration rules paragraph 34 G sub-section 4 which clearly state it is the date when online application is submitted...

Re: SET (M) filling online form , booking PSC appointment, Which date is considered Date of Application ?

Solved with proof. When you use 'Apply online' and then finally you pay and book a premium appointment, you see the following page https://www.dropbox.com/s/nuejptbzl8u21vw/doc1.png?dl=0 . There it clearly states, "You have a few more steps before your application is complete". Then if you click on...

Hi CR001 - just want to say, a massive thanks to you! I've been scouring all over the place for an answer to this question. Booked my appointment yesterday and had a mini panic attack over the same thing!

I read a similar question a few days ago, someone who went through this confirmed it’s the date of your PSC appointment. Thanks - I've spoken to my lawyer who seems to confirm the same. The thing that had me worried was the application date on the completed form showed as the date of submission.. b...

Hi trueblue,

I really hope that is the case - else I'd be in a very difficult position (financially and logistically)..

Thanks again - I'll wait to see what the more experienced members think.

PSC - ILR online appointment (application date)

Hi all, I've just booked my PSC appointment through the online SET (O) application form. The issue I'm facing now is that, the form says the 'application date' is 09/07/2018 (when I sent the form over). However, my qualifying period only starts from the 20 August 2018 (the date of my appointment). M...

Re: 60 days employment break on tier 2 General

The link I have already provided of the amendments is what you need to be looking at. Sure, I see that the need to be 'continuously employed for 5 years' has now been removed. That just opens the door to a situation where you can keep taking breaks etc between various jobs. To be honest the thing t...

Hi everyone - first of all thanks to CR001 for helping with the potential answer to this question as I'd posted this on the 'Tier 2' forum earlier. Just a bit urgent and looking for home office guidance that helps answer my question. For background and context, I'm currently on a Tier 2 General visa...

Amazing news - very happy to hear of this 60 day period being taken away. I'm in a similar position and hopefully, I can take a nice 2-3 week holiday before starting my new job!

Re: 60 days employment break on tier 2 General

Hi CR001, That's amazing news! just in time for me... do you reckon it would be okay for me to travel out of the country for the 3-4 weeks between the two jobs, provided I have a valid Tier 2 visa with a start date that allows this? Thanks again for your help - the FOI request I put through just kep...
